In Australia, A $3 Billion Jehovahs Witnesses Class Action Over Child Abuse looms Large
by Scott77 inthat's the approximate headline from steve unthank's website at www.jwnews.org.
assuming those numberous victims of sexual abuse prevail in the court and ultimately, get awarded substantial amount of compasation, what do you think will happen to the watchtower we know it today?.

To those still "in"... how do these scriptures impact you?
by leaving_quietly inmatt 7:13, 14: "go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; 14?whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.".
matt 24:44: "on this account you too prove yourselves ready, because at an hour that you do not think to be it, the son of man is coming.".
2 pet 3:3, 4: "for you know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires 4?and saying: where is this promised presence of his?

Does anyone else have a fear of leaving because of these scriptures? I do. I wish I didn't, but I do.
Despite their claims, there is no proof or any way to prove conclusively that being one of Jehovah's Witnesses puts one in compliance with these scriptures. JW's are "captive" to the notion that they are the only ones who are on the "narrow road" or are prepared enough for "the end". They believe they are being "ridiculed" as it says in 2 Peter, when anyone simply disagrees with them or points out the many incorrect dates they've held out as significant. Or when anyone is able to provide proof of their having made false prophecies or having covered up their own past wrongdoing. Despite the scriptures admonition not to judge others, they have virtually condemned, via their literature and teachings, billions in the world to death simply because they do not buy into the notion that their leaders in New York are being led by God. Anyone who belongs to a religion at some point must have bought into the idea that theirs is the one true one. Otherwise why would they they stick with it? If they have serious doubts, it is often fear of the unknown, superstitious thinking, lack of knowledge or direction and sheer habit or laziness that makes them stick with it their entire lives. This human tendency is how the different religions survive ,sometimes even thinking their longevity or growth is a result of god blessing them. JW's are no different It seems to me, many are in it because they have based their beleifs on fearful one sided information and have been made afraid to look at it from any other angle. For most JW's, it just happens to be the one they somehow got mixed up in and have become afraid of leaving for the same reason....it's how it has survived this long.

I was in Brisbane a little over a week ago and noticed a lot of anti child molestation posters in the airport and train stations. Seems like they are pretty serious about wanting people to report offenders. Maybe there is a climate of zero tolerance brewing on this subject that will not bode well for the WT Society if there are in fact charges against them.

Hey Outlaw, you should call or write to the local hall and chew someone out for sending these children to your door without a male adult with them. What could they have been thinking ???

Has Anyone Ever Been DF'd, Moved and Then Just Started Over Again ???
by RubaDub ini know that people jump through all sorts of hoops to get reinstated, typically for family reasons.. if you happened to move to a different area, wouldn't it just be easier to accept some literature, study, get love-bombed, etc.
you could then switch congregations and fade and not have the df status anymore.. am i smoking something ?
i can't believe this has not been done before ?.

There was this sister I knew that never seemed to be able to find anyone of her own. There werent any eligible brothers around and even though she was attractive and a nice person, she wound up a single pioneer in her 40's alone. A guy her age showed up at the hall saying he just moved here from Alaska looking for work. He apparently came by bus and had obtained the latest magazines at a bus depot along the way and wanted to study. Long story short, he was welcomed in with open arms, studied, got baptized and engaged to the single vulenerable sister...she was over the moon to have someone at last. The Sisters family saw some inconsistencies in his story and had him investigated. Turns out he was DF'd and married in another State and had a kid. It was all very sad and humiliating for the sister. This happened in the 90's before the Internet was everywhere and people were a little less savvy about these things. it would be harder to pull off nowadays but a few hall changes in a row might do the trick...but why?

Last evening we were doing the stroll along the beach walk and happened upon one of those JW literature tables I had only heard about up until now. There was a young Japanese couple looking at the literature as we passed. I must say the pretty young lady tending the stand looked so nice and presentable and the literature looked much kinder and gentler than it was when we left the org four years ago. No photos of destruction, atom bombs blowing up the world or people being held at knife point by some drugged crazed mugger. I could see how someone might be lulled into checking out her wares. Maybe we are seeing a new approach that is moving away from the old die hard days of the 1975 end of the world era. My hope, for the sake of my family thats still in,is that one day JWs will be able to be allowed to have a relationship with god without the need for the fear tactics, servitude to an organization or having their personal lives policed so much.
Aloha!

I change my mind too much from year to year about what I like and don't like , for me to ever get a tattoo. I'd say, hang a picture of what you want where you will see it every day to see if you still LOVE it after 6 months enough to want it on your body FOREVER. Know about the ink they will use, it's toxity, it's U.V. reactivity and it's reputation for lasting without fading and of course research the artist. I saw red flags when you mentioned yours wanting to use you in a show. It may be true but it sounds like flattery to me...I'm just sayin'.
I heard about a woman who got a little tattoo of a butterfly on her butt when she was young. Now at middle age the butterfly is the size of a Condor , LOL!

I am going to mail a check for $27 Million to Watchtower @ 25 Columbia Heights, but will "earmark" the check 'For Candace Conti Only.'
I have some blank checks left over from when I opened a new checking account. Wouldn't it be great if they were suddenly flooded with phony donations to the Candace Conti fund from all over the world just to let them know they are being watched. One could send a double message by making a copy of the cover of that Watchtower about the "1914 generation that will not die" and write their donation on the back of it or even on the back of a copy of a newspaper article about the trial. One could even send a second donation to the local k.h. Just to tip them off about the suit. Most JW's don't even know about it.

What's new? Did Armageddon come?
You might say each of us had our own personal Armageddon just coming to grips with the fact that we were raised in a cult and then having to put the leftover fragments of our existence together to form a new life.
