Elder wants to do "other activities" with me

i'm fully aware that this is a cult, and i was waiting for the social elements to kick in.

so far, i have just been doing the "bible study," discussing doctrine, etc.

however, recently one of the elders said he wants to get together with me to do other activities.

Please please please get away from these people...Before you know it you will be under the ''mind control''...Take it from someone who was almost destroyed by this cult...Their is nothing you can do for this friend of yours...If you tell her it's a cult it will only push her into their claws! Stay with this site and see if you can find something that will unravel her mind...She is young and has only just got involved...But you must protect and guard yourself! They are trying to get their evil claws into you. Please do not fall for it! When they start inviting you to their little gatherings, it will be to cut you off from your family and friends...Once you are baptised they will drop you like a hot cake! Plus the real ''misery'' starts!

What's with the tattoing your arms craze?

why are so many guys getting their arms tattoed?

looks awful, like they have been in a fire and have ash all over their arms, or like they have gangrene.

just looks kinda dirty.

Carrot has the beginning of a tattoo on his arm...Eventually it will be a full sleeve...I quite like tattoo's, only if they are good! It took Carrot years to decide and design exactly what he wanted! I have tattoo on my lower back...Babysprout in Arabic...The only problem with tattoo's is that they are very addictive! If i had the money i would have another one! Hee hee! The friends i have that have tattoo's all have something that represents and means something to them...Soo many people have an ''off the tattoist's wall'' tattoo! I can imagine nothing worse than seeing someone with your exact same tattoo!

What emotions have you been coping with?

i wanted to dedicate this posts to just talking about the emotional scars we all have had or maybe still have.

was there a gap of time between you thinking you didn't want to continue and actually, consciously, deciding to no longer continue as on of jws?

it's amazing to me the strong hold this religion puts on you.

It's taken nearly two years but slowly with Christ's help those emotions are changing into the positive...Yeah being bought up as a JW has nearly destroyed me, but like hell am i going to let those evil monsters take anymore of my precious life!

I've made the eye laser operation and I can highly recommend it!

now i'm free of glasses and lenses .

(i've had bad sight since i was 12).

the operation went so quick and didn't hurt at all just a bit sore after.

Thats awesome Newborn! Congrats on your ''new'' eyes!

I have severe astigmatism in both eyes and severe myopia! I have worn glassses since i was 7 and needed them from the age of 5...I am terrified of anything near my eyes! It took me 4 hours to put my first contact lense in! I hate having an optician look in my eyes, it makes me want to throw up! I would love to have laser surgery but i have not got the guts!

Oh well maybe one day!

my older brother has a 4 year old son.

he has a wild imagination and is frequently freaked the hell out at night.

so my jw brother naturally tells him that jehovah will protect him.. when this statement doesn't appease the fearful child he will use a statement along the lines of "do you question whether jehovah can protect you?".

Babysprout is terrified of the dark! Monsters are coming to get her and the dark invites them in! On an evening she refuses to go to the bathroom unless someone goes with her...The way i found to put a stop to it was to tell her this....''There is no such things as monsters and the only monster you need to be scared of is MEEEE, without any make up on!''...Babysprout cocked her head and looked me up and down and said ''Thats true you are quite frightening without makeup''...Since then no problems! I just have to be careful not to sneak around in the dark with no makeup on! LOLOLOL

We also leave the landing light on for her with her door opened a little so the light shines through. That keeps her calm if she wakes in the night from a nasty dream.

ive been to hospital and had a biopsy taken from a lump in my breast today

i was expecting to just get examined then told it was nothing to worry about but i also had a mamogram , then scan .

the lump i was worried about was ok but the scanner found one behind it that she was not sure about , she took a biopsy from it after i had a local anesthetic and sent me back to the doctor who told me i would now have to wait a week for those results !

when i had arrived i was told i would be told today if everything is ok !

Were you ever counseled in your talks by the school overseer for something stupid?

when i was a teenager i was always counseled because i have a speech impediment.

i have a real hard time with r's.

it was a nightmare giving talks.

Blondie their concern at that particular time was trying to calm me down as i was rather hysterical! LOL...My parents were bullied beyond belief...My mom had elders in her face and in her home having a go at her! They almost killed my dad! We all had it really rough! Luckily we are all out and have no family in the Watchtower!

do you miss anything from when you were a jw?

a few of my friends who also used to be jw's, say they miss certain things abt it...i can honestly say that i don't miss a single thing (my sister obviously who's still in but nothing else).. before i could sometimes miss having such a strong belief but that's also gone.

i guess i've moved on big time.

I miss having a new outfit for every day of the convention or assemblies! I don't have new outfits now! *SIGH*

Apart from the ''having new clothes* I MISS ABSOLOUTELY NOTHING!!!!!! Loving my life now!

I speak quite fast and it never affected my talks in my cong, always got G's...Then we moved to the cong from HELL...They didn't like i had all G's so started giving me W's because i spoke quite fast...I had just given a talk in the ''second school'' and the overseer started counselling me with the wrong counsel! I said to him that i was being counselled on so and so and he looked at me like i was dog poop and carried on humiliating me...I got really mad [as the snots who bullied me, were sat at the back like they always did when i had a talk] and started to talk very loudly that it was the wrong counsel and i was going to ignore it...The mocking and humiliating got soo bad i threw my bible on the floor and broke down in tears! That really fuelled the bullies! My parents were trying to calm me down to no avail! I was on a W for a long long time! LOLOLOLOLOL

Oh what fond memories!
