  any thoughts on how he gets his info on dead people to feed back to families.

  he seems to give out info that only the dead person would know.. is there a presence that exists after death?

  are there people floating around before they go to wherever?

  Is there a presence that exists after death? Are there people floating around before they go to wherever? Do they come back and make contact?

  Having believed the WTS's version of "when you are dead you are dead" (which was comforting in it's own way because no hell to worry about), and not believing anything they say at this point, I am thinking in different directions and possibilities. Ah, at least I am thinking.

  I thought I had all the answers and now I find I have none. So, I would appreciate any experiences or thoughts on this subject.

  Ordered Complexity necessitates Design

  just a short question which probably was raised before.. the favorite argument of creationists: since there is such abundant complexity in the world around us and within us - doesn't this point point to design and therefore a designer (i.e.

  god)?.

  much info abounds on both sides of the answers to the question.

  Thanks for your post FreePeace.

  It brought back memories of the feelings I had while studying and later becoming a JW. When first approached by JW;s for a study, they asked me what I thought of god. I replied that I thought he was a cruel and vengeful god. After studying for a year, they asked the question once again. I then replied that Jah is merciful and loving. Brainwashing completed. Next step baptism.

  I never could accept the story of Job. How horrible that his children died. Could giving him more children make up for the ones lost? As a mother, I felt that giving me thousands more children would never erase the agony of losing one of my children. Ah, but the sisters in the congregation has the answer to this one. "Job was a man and didn't have the same feelings towards his children as a woman would." Little man bashing going on at the Kingdom Hall?

  most people who have any sustained contact with jehovahs witnesses soon discover that this organization is rather tough on certain types of plants.

  it is easy to see that small forests have been sacrificed over the decades to make the multiple millions of publications for the evangelical work or that many plants that are commonly used for personal drug use are condemned, but most people dont know about a few lonely plants growing somewhere in california that really irk the witnesses.

  these plants have a very interesting story to tell.

  you cannot be partaking of the table of jehovah and the table of demons.1 corinthians 10:21.. these inspired words of the apostle paul show that two figurative tables are set before mankind.

  each table is identified by the kind of symbolic food placed upon it, and all of us are eating at one or the other.

  If you aren't Lutheran, you won't get to heaven

  just had a conversation with a friend who is going to pre-marriage classes at her soon to be husband's lutheran church.

  she (a methodist) says that she is causing quite an uproar because she keeps asking questions and the minister told her off at her last class.

  she questioned his statement that a person cannot understand the bible properly unless they are lutheran.

  It could have been a misunderstanding or - a difference in that particular pastor? Have you been a Lutheran for a long time? Did you have to take any classes before becoming Lutheran? If not, maybe that is what is said in the classes and not from the pulpit.

She (a methodist) says that she is causing quite an uproar because she keeps asking questions and the minister told her off at her last class. She questioned his statement that a person cannot understand the bible properly unless they are Lutheran. When she questioned that, he angrily told her that only Lutherans go to heaven. And he added that she better listen and take these instructions to heart because it meant her very life. Hmmmmmm. Sound familiar? Seems that most religions think they are the only ones going to heaven. Too bad that they are fighting over something that doesn't exist except in the imagination of humans.

  SEPT 11- DOORS OPEN OR SHUT?

  a while ago someone suggested that brooklyn bethel shut their doors during wtc horror; does anyone know for sure?i have been told they opened the doors for 'relief work'.

  I remember being so upset with the Watchtower's Media video after the WTC was attacked. The video changed many times. I was aware that they only help their own but they shut their doors to the people of this tragedy. As I recall only three Witness people came into the WTS building and then they shut the doors.

  the older i get, the more i enjoy saturday mornings.

  perhaps it's the quiet solitude that comes with being the first to rise, or maybe it's the unbounded joy of not having to be at work.

  I have a marble container and throw one marble away every Saturday. But first I take the marble and roll it around in my hand and remind myself that it represents another week of my life. Just how did I spend that week and was it with kindness towards others and telling my family and friends how much I love them? After that I put the marble in one of my plants and there must be close to 52 marbles in the plants now. They serve as another reminder every time I water the plants.

  Some people thought it was a gruesome idea until I explained why I was doing it and then some understood and others still thought it weird. My daughter bought me 30 "I Love Lucy Marbles" to put in my marble container. I told her that it was a beautiful gesture and I would use them for 30 extra weeks if my marbles run out and I am still alive at 75.

  I enjoyed reading the story again. Now where is my marble container. Today is Saturday and another weeks has passed.
