That's about what my unemployment was. Thank goodness I was only on it for three weeks.

Should people be able to live on the dole ?
by fulltimestudent ina petite row is brewing in the australian teacup.
jenny macklin, a rather grandiosely titled, minister for families, asked by a journalist, whether she could live on the $35 dollars-a-day social services payment for job-seekers, replied that she could!
but her staff cut that comment out of the official transcript.. the row is a bit more complicated than that- but that's the gist.. the full story is at: http://www.smh.com.au/opinion/political-news/minister-riles-welfare-groups-20130101-2c4ct.html.

Has the GB ever explained how they receive "new light" from Jehovah?
by cobaltcupcake ini remember a long time ago the explanation was that various anointed ones would write to the gb with the same new understanding of a teaching, the gb would investigate it, and if it was acceptable, they'd pass it on to the r&f.
of course, now we have the new light that new light occurs only to the gb, not the anointed at large.
so, if any anointed ones get new ideas, they're just apostates, right?.

Any good memories I had were all non-JW related. Plenty of good times with friends some of whom it turns out aren't in the organization anymore.

Doesn't the Dalai Lama want to bring back what the old Tibet used to have, namely forced slave labor?

August is correct!
I never got why if that information was so beneficial for preaching that everybody didn't get to go to that school. After all, isn't this work so important that we would all want to be as skilled as possible at preaching?

A fun ridiculous JW story
by ilikecheese inso i work with a jw.
around christmastime, everyone was leaving little presents for everyone else.
at least, they were doing that for the people they liked and ignoring the quiet ones; all offices are just like high school!

Hi All - Finally Posting Here!
by Pyramid Scheme infirst off, i owe this site a tremendous debt of gratitude.
i have been an inactive witness for 4 glorious years, and the spark that began my fade out of the organziation was this site and paul's jwfacts.com.
it opened my eyes to a whole new world of insight, and i discovered that there were so many people out there like me - still a "spiritual" individual, but completely disgusted with the jw organization.
