Did YOU Feel Abused By The Elders?
by minimus ini know some here have said they pretty much hated the elders.
did you personally feel the elders were abusive men?.
-
MrFreeze
The elders have a hand in mentally abusing members of the congregation. Everyone who listens to an elders talks or counsel is being abused.
Personally, when I tried to make the decision to step down from pioneering, they abused me by not respecting my wishes. They refused to let me stop pioneering even though there was no way I could get the hours.

WT Society holds EXTREME Responsibility for 1975 and False Expectations
by flipper inhowever- many jw's who have come into the jw organization from like 1985 forward virtually may have no knowledge of the wt society's 1975 debacle and false predictions of the end times or armageddon predictions.
just like in in the book 1984 by george orwell the wt society has a way of not only erasing it's history so no newer witnesses will be aware of their false predictions, but also they are re-writing their history as if those false predictions never happened.. so for those of you here who may have never read or heard of how whipped up into an emotional frenzy witnesses were in the years just before 1975 by the wt society claiming the end was any day now- this threads for you.
to see the pressure that was put on jw's by the wt society to get rid of everything before " armageddon " .

How can you not hold them responsible? The WT for JW's is on par with the Bible. Maybe they never specifically said that 1975 was going to be Armageddon, but they sure hinted at it. They used just enough double talk so they could try to weasel out of it.

The real problem with Watchtower.
by Rattigan350 ina topic on here about 1975 prompted me to write about how, for me, that is and never was or will be an issue.. also, the 144,000 and 'two classes' with memorial partaking, and child abuse are not issues with this religion.
everyone has their unique teachings and personnel problems.. the real problem with this religion was highlighted in the 2008 yearbook.
it gave a story of a young woman who was from estonia who was on the equivalent of american idol for estonia.

At least other cults like Scientology and Mormon let you have a life outside of the religion. For the JW's, they are not allowed to serve themselves at all. Everything must be done for the WT. If you have a talent like drawing or playing a musical instrument, you had better not make a display of it. I find it interesting that when I was growing up we used to have talent shows (or something akin to a talent show). During the last 5-10 years that I was a JW they stopped doing them.
The cult sucks all humanity out of you until you are nothing but a shell.

Wait, they still have shows about history on the History Channel? I thought all they had was ice road truckers and people digging through the garbage for junk.

When Was The Last Time "The Friends" Checked Up On You? Spiritual or Social Visit?
by ÁrbolesdeArabia ini know of two couples who left the congregation i faded from, they two have never received a shepherding call, i was usually the one who came by with food or offered to help clean their homes.
most of you are beyond this like i am, this goes to the new members arriving here who might think the "friends" are coming to check up on them.
the elders in my former hall were too much into drinking and eating, average body weight was 265lbs with pumpkin shaped bodies.

I still talk to some occasionally. They never visit or want to hang out. I always offer to go out for a beer or two but they always come up with some excuse. Overall, I don't think they want anything to do with me.

London Calling, specifically the song Clampdown. London Calling is my favorite album ever.

After that, I'd say Rubber Soul from The Beatles.

This is a joke right? Like, someone making a joke about the Bible Stories book depicting lots of death?
