Yes, Rutherford proclaimed in 1918 that "millions now living will never die." Well it's been 95 years since. How many 95+ year old people are alive on earth today? Does it number into the millions?

Okay truthurts, why don't we replace the word "Rich" with "Greedy". I think that is a more fair assessment. I don't resent people who are rich. I resent people who step over everyone else to get an extra buck. This video is saying what I've been saying since I first heard this debate. The greediest rich people out there are not up in arms about everyone wanting them to pay higher taxes because its less money they have to help other people by putting that money elsewhere. Those greedy people are up in arms because its less money in their pocket.
It doesn't matter how rich you are. If nobody can afford to buy what you are offering, you will go out of business.

Assuming the flood story was true , did humans eat meat before the flood ?
by smiddy inor did the slaughtering of animals as sacrificed to god from abel`s time on , just appease his blood lust.. smiddy.

MrFreeze
THey ate/sacrificed animals as soon as they got off the ark. I guess that means that a species was wiped out from it.
But it doesn't matter since humans were eating meat since as long as they existed... thousands upon thousands upon thousands of years before the flood supposedly occured.
I guess god never heard of genetic bottlenecking either.

Why do witnesses listen to their GB
by speargrass55 inhello everyone, i want us to discuss the gbs right to control jws.
the gb claim, and rf jws believe that they can't understand the bible without help from the gb.
when you ask them why they listen to the gb you hear stuff like .

MrFreeze
The biggest kicker is that they claim they aren't inspired by god... just directed by him. This way, they can just claim they are imperfect men doing the best they can. Wait... but god is directing them... so god directed them in the wrong direction? If you had a GPS that was constantly giving you incorrect directions, you'd say that was a pretty crappy GPS.

Making the Jehovah's Witnesses OWN THEIR OWN EVIL
by Terry indrunkards often scape-goat responsibility onto their drinking--as though it were morally defensible to cause accidents or death!.
serial drinking and driving is a plague on highways across the world.
drunkeness has been labeled as a "disease" and it isn't unusual.

It just amazes me that the WT and Witnesses want to talk about the origin of things like Halloween and Mother's Day but when you bring up the origins of the WT, that apparently doesn't matter.

More evidence of fraud in 2nd Peter: Noah didn't preach, per Genesis 6
by adamah inthanks for reading the 3-part series on the contradictory characterization of lot in genesis vs 2nd peter, analyzing genesis 19 and comparing it to 2nd peter 2. in the articles, i took a step-by-step approach to show how 2nd peter's declaring lot as "righteous" was exactly the opposite goal of the author of genesis, since the point of the story is how unrighteous lot was saved not due to his righteousness, but on behalf of his righteous uncle abraham (the star of the torah).. of course, the book of 2nd peter is widely acknowledged by nt scholars to be a fraudulent work, written under a pseudonymous (fake) name in order to 'patch up' some loose ends in the torah, likely to support then-blossoming doctines of christianity.
of particular interest to ex-jws is that one intent was to support the duty to warn others of the coming end of days, including the jw's beloved scripture, matt 28:19, that justifies their preaching work: "go thereforth and make disciples...." the only support for the claim that noah preached before the flood is found in 2nd peter, so it's a dubious claim.. in the latest article, i examine the flood account in genesis 6, showing how god had already condemned mankind even before he offered the covenant agreement to noah, so there's absolutely no reason for noah to be a "preacher of righteousness", as 2nd peter claims, since god's judgment had already been passed, and death sentence had been handed down.. .

Atheism and the delusion of meaning
by Laika inin the movie annie hall, written by woody allen, as a young boy, alvy's mother, takes him to see a doctor as he appears to be dealing with some kind of depression.
when the doctor asks alvy what's up, alvy explains that he just found out the universe is expanding, everything will spread out and go cold and die, therefore nothing he does matters, so he is not going to do anything anymore.
most people might see this as a joke, but i think woody is trying to make a serious point.. the point here is about meaning.

What is delusional about accepting the world for what it really is? To me it is delusional to think there is some magical eternal paradise and if you are deemed good enough by some completely arbitrary standards, you too can live forever in it. That's delusion.

Dating Sites
by LouBelle ini will admit that i have joined two a little while back just to see what kind of a response i would get.
it is so difficult to meet new people in that: 1) work - there are now 4 men in all - 2 married old cronies and 2 younger guys that are just a no.
2) i have a lot of gay friends so when we go shake our bom boms it's usually at a gay club - 99.9% of the men there are gay 3) friends of friends are usually involved.

Here's a couple articles about the OKCupid dating site.
The first one was sort of a study to see how online dating was different for me and for women as in regard to responses they received based on profile:
http://www.zdnet.com/blog/violetblue/ten-fake-profiles-one-okcupid-experiment-okcupid-on-trial/1405
Second one was a fake profile to see how low guys would go. It honestly makes me embarrassed to be a man.
