I always believed, even when I was a JW and defended what they say, that in an event like that, it would be permissable to stop a maniac. It's called valueing life and if the JW's had a problem with it, too bad.

Arizona massacre -- Where does JW line of self defense get crossed?
by FatFreek 2005 injehovah's witnesses are peaceful folks, just ask them.
having been one till many years ago i used to know the stock answers to questions about that fine line between being peaceable and defending oneself.. this came to front and center during the past several days with that horrific arizona shooting where some 7 folks have lost their lives.
it could have been more if it weren't for several onlookers ganging up on the perpetrator after he emptied the first magazine of bullets, getting ready for his spare magazine.. these onlookers instinctively became aggressive and restrained the perpetrator, one of them choking the man when needed, etc., and etc.. heroes, all of them, in my opinion.. none of them remained passive, thinking that this man wasn't really a threat to them personally so why get involved.

Snow days were the best. I remember once we even had a snow day on a Thursday night when the local football team was playing. I was so excited I got to watch it instead of go to the meeting.

Nope, for several reasons. If they had not dropped the bombs, US would have invaded and a LOT more people would have died.
Anybody who says that Hiroshima and Nagasaki were just "civilian cities"are wrong. There were military bases there plus they were industrial cities with a lot of emphasis put on military manufacturing.

Is Forgiveness Overrated?
by leavingwt in.
is forgiveness overrated?.
if i'm being completely honest with myself, there is a short list of folks who i haven't forgiven.
-
MrFreeze
Nope, it's not always necessary and I understand why some people don't forgive over certain things.
Me on the other hand, I'm always good and ready to forgive just so long as you are true of heart, show you want to be forgiven and work to correct the mistake you made against me. Then again, I've never had anything that bad done against me. Certainly, there might be things I would consider unforgiveable. I haven't been on the receiving end of anything like that yet.
