I was wondering the same thing therevealer. Maybe they are saying too many people are straying and getting too close to worldly people? Even so, you'd have to be pretty damn close to someone. That or the guy is a psycho. Maybe he was just showing her the ring he got his girlfriend and she had wild dreams of grandeur thinking it was for her? So much idiocy in one picture.

That's a lot of good reading!
If "the truth" is the truth why is it so easy for people to be swayed? If something is true, once you've got it, you would always stick by it.

I always use this line of reasoning. Keep in mind I'm reasoning with a JW so everything in the Bible is 100% truth. "How many wrong teachings do the Bible writers push? Zero. Why's that? Because they are inspired of God. That's why we listen to what they say? Right? How many times have the Governing Body changed their teachings? They would only need to change their teachings if they weren't right. If you aren't right, you are wrong. So they couldn't possibly be inspired by God if what they teach is wrong. If they aren't inspired by God, why should we listen to them?"
I've had elders tell me that the GB isn't inspired by God. So I ask them why we should listen to them. They never have an answer.

doesn't mean i have to like it though.. honestly, can't you make your point without this kind of infantile name calling?

I used to read countless war books. I may definitely check those out. I read a book a few years ago called "Man in the High Castle". It was an interesting insight on if the Axis had won WWII.

I used to love reading. I would go through books like mad. But as of the last few years I find myself fading further and further from reading. I'm looking for some ideas of what books to read. There are so many to choose from I don't even know where to start. I can't really tell you what kinds of books I like because I enjoy all kinds. Can you give me some ideas of books you've enjoyed reading and list why you like the particular book? And no, I don't wanna hear suggestions like "Crisis of Conscience". I'm looking for books to escape my reality, not read about it in great detail.
