I used to love reading. I would go through books like mad. But as of the last few years I find myself fading further and further from reading. I'm looking for some ideas of what books to read. There are so many to choose from I don't even know where to start. I can't really tell you what kinds of books I like because I enjoy all kinds. Can you give me some ideas of books you've enjoyed reading and list why you like the particular book? And no, I don't wanna hear suggestions like "Crisis of Conscience". I'm looking for books to escape my reality, not read about it in great detail.

"The Science of Fear" by Daniel Gardener
Awesome book, great sensibility, not too political, but slightly liberal.

If you have a spare few months I would recommend the trilogly from James Jones: 'From here to eternity', 'The thin red line', and 'Whistle', in that order. Jones was a soldier in WWII, so his books have a realism that is rare in fiction.

I used to read countless war books. I may definitely check those out. I read a book a few years ago called "Man in the High Castle". It was an interesting insight on if the Axis had won WWII.

If you like Political Fiction, Enders Game and Empire by Orson Scott Card are also good reads.

Very high on my list is the Jean Auel series. It starts with Clan of the Cave Bear. The 6th in the series will be coming out next month, so it's a great time to start. You will be transported!

My favorite books are non fiction adventure. Hard to pick a favorite, but on that favorite list would be the Munity On the Bounty. It is a trilogy. Read them all, in order of course. First is Munity on......., second is Men Against the Sea, and third is Pitcarin's Island. Pitcarin's...... will leave your head spinning. Goggle Pit...... and you'll see to this day how the few inhabitants are linked to the Bounty. Incrediable story!

If you're looking for something light, try the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child. They're like action movies but better because they're books! I've never been into that genre, but I love that series.
