Buying a replacement for your line is a lot less expensive than buying a whole new house. Guess you got kind of lucky there.
As for your "friends" unfriending you, I'm sure pretty soon you won't really miss them.
so, this week has been hell!!!
it's been bad enough that all of our jw friends & family having been shunning us, 'unfriending' us on facebook and sending nasty emails to gojira...
so i have a dog, zoey that likes to tattle on the others, even humans.

Life's a piece of shit, when you look at it.
any of you have access to the watchtower magazine from march 1, 1953?.
it is true that the wt acknowledges in that magazine page 143 that you don't need to belong to any church or organization?
i will appreciate if you can post that declaration.
If that is the case cedars, then let us rephrase the question. Was Jesus ever required to go to the Kingdom Hall?
And if they point out that Jesus went to temple, be sure to remind them that if the Kingdom Hall is a temple, then it would qualify as a church too.
okay, so the jws (and my mom) would be so happy if i started going to meetings again.
i've made it clear i don't believe what they say so why would they care if i went to meetings?
do they want me to go meetings and be an open dissenter?
I would just like to point out that it wasn't anything anybody has done that made me bring this up. Just in general. If they wanted me to come back, why is that? There hasn't been any special push to get me back.

Gotta agree with LisaRose, if you leave for reasons other than waking up to the BS, then it is very possible to get sucked back in.
I left because I found out how dishonest the religion is. If I were ever to go back, I would have to be lying to myself and everyone at the KH. There's no way you can undo TTATT.
The people who learn and accept TTATT never go back because they suddenly believe the doctrine again. They go back for things like family and friends or to find a place where they can find a social circle.
op based on mr. freeze's topic - could attending the meetings/studying again sway any of you back to the org.
hearing the propaganda over and over again is pretty powerful i'm sure.
(i'm a non-jw, non-christian (no offense), stubborn as a bull and even i had moments of pause based on some of the doctrine (lasted 30 seconds) but i never had family/friends at stake or a background in this.
If I went back I would be lying to myself and everyone I know. You can't un-pop the Snapple cap.
i've read a few people mention making up the figures for the field service reports, and i want to find out how common it is.
i never lied on my report.
sometimes i'd round up 15 minutes if i'd mentioned jw stuff to my brother that month, but that wasn't falsifying.
I was working full time and regular pioneering while I was mentally awake. Of course I lied on my field service report.
you all had some interesting thoughts on that jw memorial thread.
some of you mentioned that you are going so that you can set some sort of example.
i gather that some of you believe that by going and eating, you are somehow showing them they can (or should) do it too.. that really confuses me.
LOL@Outlaw... I haven't laughed that hard in a while.

LOL@Wholly, let me know what you find.
@ruderedhead, I was baptised at 13. By the time I actually had a job so I could donate I knew what was going on. I had no desire to give them any money.
@Outlaw... once again you outdo yourself.

transhuman, who wants to think when you can have some old crusty men think for you in New York?
ruderedhead, I NEVER made donations. However, I was a regular pioneer, ministerial servant up until the day I told the elders I wasn't coming back.
