ROFL...So do you go *looking* for some little thing to take issue with and or twist into an *issue*??? Or were your *pretending* like you didn't get the insinuation? Did you not get the insinuation??

I do not think Amnesian's posts/amount of words to be anything near Amazing's excessivness in evading the actual debate. Better now? Nice and streamlined for you?? Sheesh!!!

Here's another item for you and tiedie to mull over, there are some who have sat at Amazing's feet just thankful for his every wrod of wisdom he deigned to share with us over time. Then there are some of us who took offense with him early on. I once took the time to call him on some of his political bullshit talk and was quickly suroounded by the ol' ex-elder homie gang. One can only wonder how many other women would have liked to call Amaing on a thing or two in the past but lord knows they have seen what happens when a girl tries *that* haven't they????? So, in your searching for that non-existent meaning in some things, here's a meaning for you to find that *does* exist....notice how many real strong opinions there are out there not so favorable to Amazing? Notice how many women applauded that first big-time rebuttal post Amnesian wrote Amazing??? Now think for a moment....do you think all these very strong, passionate feelings suddenly occured with Amnesian's post?? Or, could there have been plenty of women who have been pretty sick of Amazing's obvious arrogance and chauvanistic attitude that they finally saw a bit of a champion of their own stand up to this Elder-like-fellow after all this time????? Believe me, such passionate reactions do not occur with the appearance of a post honey, you may want to look into the concept of Fermentation.

If you want to look for hidden meanings and/or little things to take issue with or perhaps help you to understand some of the dynamics of the interactions on the board Xena, maybe you should start looking in the right places (cause take my word for it there are plenty, you just miss all the significant ones, *hint* they aren't put downs to your boyfriend or remarks about people's weight--not the meaningful ones at least).

Some good ones in this thread. I have one, not exactly a one liner but I must say it was delivered by one of the all time greatest screen bad guys EVER. Tim Roth as Archibald Cunningham in Rob Roy, had finally captured the elusive Roy, (Liam Neeson sp?), anyway, Poor Rob had been dragged behind a horse all day and rather beaten/broken.

Tim Roth comes strutting up to the broken figure and smugly asks:

"So, how do things look to you today McGregor? Is God's great plan for us all to your liking?" ROFL I am telling you his performance alone is worth watching this movie!

I love the way he delivers that line and challenge anyone to come up with a better on-screen bad guy who you can love to hate.

Another good one, Henry V, knows he would have been sold to the french by traitors and shares his knowledge with said traitors by handing them what looks to be miltary orders, as he is chatting, they read the paper and look at him terrified to have been discovered: Henry V (brilliantly played by Kenneth Branaugh) asks: Well how now gentlemen? Whay see you in those papers that makes you lose so much complexion?" Great line, I love Shakespeare!

just a reminder to all those partisan politics folks that both republicans and democrats are dirty, lying thieves through and through.

conservatives enjoyed piling on clinton and getting all frothy about how he dishonered the dignity of the white house.

then george w. promised to 'restore dignity to the white house' and instead of viewing this as a typical political lie to get elected, conservatives bought it hook, line, and sinker.

Hi Seeker,

I couldn't agree with you more on this Enron thing. Looks like event this oh-so-tightly-controlled white house is really in for it.

I must say though, if I recall correctly there was a piece fo legislation floating around that would have possibly helped to put a stop to such practice but of course the Senate majority Republicans managed to table it just before Jeffords defected.

It is truly a pathetic state of affairs all around.

out of the many things from the bible i wonder about there was one i thought i would share with you all and see if you may have any interesting insights on this issue.. according to the bible man was suppose to live forever, no sickness, easy childbirth for women, just your basic paradise, right?.

so ok, we all know that because that wretched eve screwed it up for all of us and everything we now have suffering and death.. my problem with all of this is this: what if all the people who had ever lived had never died?

how many of us would there be on the planet?

Wow, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and thoughts on this matter. Out of all those who defend the bible and/or this idea I have to admit that Shelby's is the most sensible. It is the only way that the "or you will surely die" business could be explained.

Again thanks to all, appreciate all the different perspectives and to those of you who had thoughts on the matter similar to mine, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who wonders about things like that.

but many of you may not have read it since it was specific to her.. i was planning a long farewell statement because i have a number of things i want to share, but decided i would do that in private if anyone wishes.

While I have merely breezed through the incredibly verbose exchange going on here these words caught my eye:

You asked me if Julie was right and when I answered (essentially an "I don't know... ask Julie"), you reply by saying that YOU "have no right to judge whether Julie was right or wrong." If YOU have no right to "judge," then why ask me MY opinion?

Let me save you some time and trouble dear. Whenever Ginny or anyone for that matter asks you "Was Julie right about (insert topic)?" you can safely reply "Yes."
