Are you confident about blood?

the issue of blood remains a tricky one.. personally, i think that the ot prohibition of blood is more of a statement of respect for life and in particular respect for the life of the animal that lost it life in providing food for man.

similarly, it was prohibited for a calf to be cooked in the milk of its mother.. with blood transfusions, no one actually dies and, therefore, in my view blood transfusion is more a matter of personal conscience than centrally dictated law.. undeniably though, it is clear that risks are associated with blood transfusions, particularly hepatitis c.. if an alternative were available, would you not choose this every time over whole blood?

would this not then justify the current jw stance?.

The Neo-Watchtower apologists frame their arguments in such a manner (intentionally or not) that it appears that someone could arrive at the same belief as official Watchtower doctrine through independent study. But is that possible? Is it possible to come to what the Watchtower calls "the truth" independently of the publications produced by the Watchtower? To ask it another way, from the Watchtower's official position, can the study of New Testament Greek grammar and syntax bring someone's beliefs in line with existing Watchtower doctrine? After examining several Watchtower publications, it would appear that it would be impossible for a person studying the Greek New Testament apart from Watchtower helps to come up with a faith that matches the Watchtower's "truth".

Acts 15:20 But that we

write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and [from] fornication, and [from] things strangled, and [from] blood.

It clearly show nothing of the sort!

Back then they had no idea blood transfusions were possible. They were unaware of its basic components and that they could be used lovingly to save lives.

How about Leviticus 4:7 "And the priest shall put of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before Jehovah, which is in the tent of meeting; and all the blood of the bullock shall he pour out at the base of the altar of burnt-offering, which is at the door of the tent of meeting."

Ain't that offering kind of dark and pagan? If not, why is it that the WT does not make blood offerings in the KH for Jehovah?

The WT has distorted the Scriptures in a way that that such practice and subsequent deaths glorifies their man-made organization.

Did Jesus Die on a Cross or Stake

i have been research the topic of how christ died and have read many articles (most interesting of them was at the url http://www.freeminds.org/doctrine/cross.htm) which indicate that he died on a cross, so i contacted the wt and they told me to look at vine's expository dictionary of new testament words, and this is what i found.

Question to JW lurkers on 144,000 saved ones

the watchtower organization states that through good works and sincere effort only 144,000 elite jws will go to heaven.

the 144,000 are mentioned in two chapters in the bible: revelation 7 & 14. by looking at the verses it is obvious that the 144,000 are literal jews of the ancient tribes with no gentiles among them (7:4-8).

they are all males (14:4) and virgins (14:4).

Maybe 90% of the Bible is figurative. It takes good will and love to interpret it in the context it was written.

As children are exposed to continuous sexual abuse and people die from blood transfusion refusal, some sit high on their "Tower" and glorify themselves from their self-apointed power trip.

Shame...

i just want to pass a message along that if anyone watches cbc's "the fifth estate" on wednesday, january 22, 2003 (that's this wednesday night), they should see a promotion for the upcoming jehovah's witness child abuse show at 9:00pm, next wednesday, january 29, 2003.. the promotion should be aired at or near the end of the show - around 9:50 to 9:55 pm on january 22.
