  im not sure if is prudent to post this here.

  i have a contact ( relative ) that is very close to a writing department researcher.. he claims that there was a private extraordinary meeting that was had about 6 months ago.

  9 of the gb members were present and a handfull of elitists that apparently no-one knows or would recognise.

  Has anyone else asked this question about blood?

  about a year ago, even though we had not been issued with no blood cards, there was some talk about filling in and signing the health care advanced directive.. for those who havent seen this document, it is quite detailed and specific about what blood fractions an individual will accept.

  so basically, it states the individual will under no circumstances accept whole blood or its major components, but may accept what could be quite a long list of minor blood fractions.. so here is the tricky question(s) i asked one of our local elders.

  q. you understand that these so called minor components are extracted from donated human blood and often it takes many pints of this human blood to produce just a small amount of these fractions?.

  Good question! You know the only answer is that this policy makes no sense. It is one of those Biblical passages distorted to create a unique religious character. You know, what cults do.

  I've had a rare insight into the bizarre world of the Jehovah's Witnesses - I dated one for about six months a few years ago. She was a lovely, sweet, normal girl, and I didn't realise she was particularly religious until one day when we were driving along in the car. I said something about evolution, and she said, in a rather suprised voice
  "What? You don't believe in all that evolution rubbish, do you?"
  and we spent the next six months arguing about all manner of things.

  Some of her more unusual beliefs included:

  • There are missile bases on the Moon, ready to rain down nuclear death. I pointed out the various reasons why this is false and impossible, but her mother told her and therefore it is true. I doubt that this is a common belief among JW's, but you never know...
  • God put the dinosaurs here to trample down the forests to make way for Man. The fact that most dinosaurs were very small, and many could fly or swim is irrelevant. Many JW's are young-earth creationists, and their ideas about origins are a little out of sync with modern science.
  • The Rainbow that God put in the sky after Noah's Flood was the first rainbow ever. There were no rainbows before this, as the Sun never shone on rain. It never rained, there was just a very heavy dew every morning to water the planet. The story of The Flood is, of course, historical fact.
  • She agreed that selective breeding is a form of forced evolution, but natural evolution just doesn't happen.
  • The other stars and galaxies are put there for us to populate - even though a lot of them will have burnt out or exploded long before we even get out of the solar system.

  i know it seems different to see me asking for help finding a watchtower quote, but i really need some help finding a couple of quotes that are very important for something i (and others) are working on.. i have heard that either the february 1st watchtower or the february 15th watchtower has comments about the media reporting child abuse in which the watchtower basically says it is the devil and.

  false stories.

  please let me know if you can find a quote like that.

  When we speak of child abuse, we have to look at society as a whole. This has

  become a burning issue in the last 20 or 30 years. And so society in general has

  been, more or less, plagued with this problem. And all sorts of organizations and

  agencies are grappling with how to best handle this.

  This is their "but-everybody-is-doing-it" defense...

  where care should have been extended and it was not. But to say that the policy is

  not followed perfectly is a far cry from saying that there exists a policy to

  affirmatively minimize, or hide, this problem. The policy that Jehovah's

  Witnesses have on how to handle cases of child molestation is without equal in

  the religious community.
