i keep popping back here every now and then to see whats going on, and i have noticed that the same questions about science and creationism are continually posted and answered now, as they were when i first came here.
for example, the statement that the sun and not the earth is the centre of the solar system is a scientific statement (the heliocentric theory) that is considered valid because it explains a large body of evidence (facts from the real world).

The creationism garbage theory being pushed in schools does not even get close to being an attack on biological sciences, and it has gathered some strength only because of the the freedom of religion demands political correctness. It has nothing to do with evidence and science.

1) the book you are referring to is NOT scientific.
2) That book makes completely false and ignorant statements of very well known genetic dynamics.
3) Your pseudo-scientific book contains opinions that in no way debunks any aspect of the biological evolution theory phenomena.
The book doesn't just take shots at evolution, it actively proposes a scientifically testable creation theory to take its place.
What might that spontaneous scientific creation be? Hocus-pocus? A wand with a phoenix feather? Prayer? Denial?
Get real. I thought someone was trying to explain the opposing theories and indicate their weakness & strengths in an objective way.

We are not saying one is valid and one is not, just that they are different and serve different roles; there is no need to reconcile the two for they are not in opposition, they are just different.
I beg to differ. Science attempts to describe and explain our physical world, while creationism is is a hughe leap of faith: a doctrine argueing that each species of organism was created separately in much its present form by a supernatural creator.
See, the purpose of science is to explain phenomena based on evidence and physical laws. Creationism is directly oposed to evolution theory and evidence.

They have this piece in their web site. They do not mention dinosaurs but say that that "all" life forms just 'appeared' on Earth, complete and simultaneously - creationist theory.

after i initially left the jws' i did question the whole "is there a god"" especially when you look around and see all the atrocities - the sick sick things happening in your own back yard.then i put it out of my mind and carried on believing in a god.. right now i choose to believe in a god, whether that god be jesus, jehovah, buddha, allah, shiva, it doesn't matter - i'm happy with the idea that there is a spiritual & powerful someone running things.however lately i've been questioning again - so many posters on here that are atheists really make good arguments & i can't reason my way out of it.. why does god keep so quiet?

Don't be concerrned about God but of organized religions.
i have received the most beautiful cards & pictures, poems, tea,ornaments & such lovely compliments from each & every one of you.. i was going to write those i didnt send cards to ...but there was so many ,i really couldnt.
my heart was filled as i read each & every one of them.
as you all know i lost my hubby,& 3 kids in death, one daughter to the wt & grand-children.. as i read all of them i couldnt help thinking of job---he lost lots -but regained more.
