silentlambs,
i admire your guts. good for you!! i know a sister who was shunned and was neither DA'd or DF'd too. i also witnessed a sister raising her hand repeatedly and not called on to answer. i wondered why and was annoyed at the elder who was so rude. also after my judicial meeting with elders, i was put on restriction from being on the school and from auxillry pioneering yet i was being tailed in my hall. i would come home from the meetings feeling insulted because this one elder would follow me and listen to my conversations. when i read what happened to you, i totally beleived it because i had it happen to me. one question though, did you inform the police? why isn't he in jail?? jurs

who are the governing body?
by robin33126 injehovah witness when mentioning "governing body" they say it like if they knew who these people are.
i asked one jw to mentioned their names and couldn't answer me.
so what is so special if they don't know the names, lives, background, of these people?

i'm a bit to embarresed to admit that i have no idea who any of the governing body members are or what their backgrounds are. i don't even know what exactly they do, but i trusted them completely. why not ask your friend? i would have squirmed if anyone had asked me......jurs

The JDubs and Amway--a match made in hell......
by LDH inthere are many perceptive posters here who have picked up on the mlm amway/jdub connection.. however, there are some who are not familiar with what we are talking about.
i thought for them it would be nice to list some similarities between the two organizations.. btw, amway has a new line of business, they're calling it quixtar.
so if you get approached for this, be aware it's just amway.

hello
a co-worker of my husband, approached us several years back about amway. we listened, but had no desire to get involved. they were almost too nice, if ya know what i mean. they invited us to a BBQ ect. and all we heard was how rich they were all going to be. then several weeks later , i was at a park and another mom struck up a conversation with me. it was so odd because i knew she sold amway. she talked just like these other folks we had just met. she was surprised when i asked her if she sold amway. the similarities i noticed between amway folks and JW"s ,was you can spot them a mile away by the overly niceness and the way the 2 groups have their own language. ...jurs -

Has anyone felt like leaving God altogether?
by lookingnow22 ini know that the answer is yes, but it would help me to hear your sentiments on this.
.
after you decided that the wbts, and thus jw's were not god's chosen earthly organization did you feel like you wanted to leave and forget god altogether?.

i believe in God ,Jesus and the bible. i do, i guess, because i simply want to believe. i looked in the phone book , to find a church. i X'd off any churches considered cults, expecting me to get saved, those that thought they were the only true religion, and those that had some preacher pace back and forth on a platform, working up a sweat, talking about hellfire and then asking for a donation. that certainly narrowed my search. i'm currently at a methodist church and am pleased so far. but i don't think organized religion is necessary. jurs

i had wanted to study, to learn more about the bible and God. i cannot express how much i regret ever studying with the witnesses. my advice to you is to really question what your learning and from what source (the new world translation bible.) go to different web sites and research EVERYTHING. don't just accept what the witness says to any of your questions. remember, they have a book called reasoning from the scriptures ,that answers most questions, but it does so in a slick way. go to the library and research, research research. no..... ya know what.... the best advice i can give you is turn the other way and run..... it's a cult. ...jurs

Dear Apostates, just suppose....
by TheApostleAK in...that the watchtower bible & tract society really is jehovah god's earthly organisation.... wouldn't that make you all "vessels made fit for destruction" (romans 9:22 - 24) by being opposers of jehovah god and his true organisation?.
just making this warning so you can't complain to jehovah god when his "fear-inspiring day" (joel 2:11) comes that you weren't told.. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.
this message has been brought to you by the watchtower bible & tract society.

dear apostleak
i just have to comment on your unchristian like language ,your lack of appreciation of the organization's demand that JW's not talk with apostates and that you believe that not just JW's will be saved but any doing the best to their ability........you may not know it yet, but i think your one of us! ....jurs -

JEHOVAH HAS NO ORGANIZATION
by Amazing inthe resident jws who post here and of course the jws around the world all feel that god has an organization and that they are it.
further, they ask 'where else would you go' if you talk about leaving their organizaton.
the jws talk about the organization in such terms as "it's the truth," or "wait on the organization," or "don't run ahead of the organization" as though god's divine name were really organization.. here is something that jws, and maybe some ex-jws need to understand: god (whether you call him jehovah, yahweh, jesus, buddah, allah, or any other fine name does not have any organization in heaven or on earth.

Fornication......*blushing*
by d0rkyd00d inas many may know, i'm still a teenager.
i'm not willing to reveal my age, which is one less than 17 or one more than 15. but i just wanted to get your guys' opinion on sex before marriage.
a lot of people here have kinda lost their "watchtower" and biblical standards as i have gathered.

hi dork,
its too bad that the watchtower drills so much fear of being destoyed into our heads. i believe that Jehovah is a God of love. just a suggestion, perhaps you should quit worring about all the rules the society dishes out and use some of your own common sense. the bible does make it clear that fornication is wrong. you also know the dangers of unprotected sex and possible unexpected responsibilities. it seems to me like you know you should wait . perhaps the bible makes it clear that fornication is wrong is because Jehovah also has common sense. i don't believe Jehovah hovers over people waiting for them to screw up so he can destroy them....jurs -

to THEAPOSTLEAK,
i'm very curious about you. i would be interseted to know more about you and why you come here to post. i'm guessing your still a JW. have you ever questioned wether the organization that you belong to could possibly be filled with misled people? i've come to believe that jehovah has no organization here on earth too. also i enjoyed the post......jurs -

hi dork!!!
i'm a mom so i have to say this. sex is great if you are old enough for the responsibilities (kids) and married. i was 15/16 (don't know for sure ) when i lost my virginity. I wasn't a JW at that time, by the way. it added no benefit to my life. quite the contrary. a guilty conscience for having had an abortion and many sleepless nights worring about aids. THANK GOD i don't have that!!!when i look back at it , i don't think i even really enjoyed it. it made me feel grown up. i thought if i had sex then eventually the guy would fall in love with me. Believe me , thats not the case!!i also remember it made me feel more sexy and superior to prudes. now i see how pathetic i was. it doesn't hurt to wait. go dance, kiss hold hands and date. be a kid and enjoy it!!! just don't try to grow up to soon...jurs
