i was just wondering what do the members of this board think the biggest deception in the teaching of the watchtower society is?.
one of the biggest deceptions for me, one that stuck like a thorn in my side was their deception on earthquakes, hence my previous thread on the last days.
the wts, as i recall, published supposed proof of the increase in earthquakes since 1914. i was so angry when i found out that this was an outright lie.

Probably the biggest is the fact that they deny the Great Crowd entry into a covenant of life through their lord by not allowing them also to eat and drink at memorial. JOHN 6:48-58 says "ANYONE" can partake.
ANYONE can come into union by communion and they promise them life through this covenant that they don't let them in. Therefore missing out on 'the better ressurection.'

why is it that when someone knocked on your door and said, "hey, we have the 'truth', and some of us are 'anointed'" and yet, could not prove that truth... nor even explain that anointing... you believed?.
yet, when someone who makes that claim has absolutely no problem explaining it to you and telling you of it... blow by blow... you do not believe?.

2. since it was the 337 voting members who had the biggest say so as to the changes last year in removing the gb...... (and they are non jws)....what else will they or have they done?.
the only reason they don't send the gb home, and it's not because they care about their elderly, is the fact without them as puppets up there, most jws might wake up and smell the kool-aid!.

Yes, the GB are no part of the corporation therefore gave up any voting rights. But who is to say that other anointed aren't part of the votes. Its who had the most money$$$$at the time.
10$ a share when it started and you know folks saw a way to make money through religion and big business.
So, many non jws bought into it as shareholders and still have it.
Although the arrangement has changed since then, those that started out still have a say so.

3. I read a scripture last night that truly fulfills what has happened in the last year. It is Psalms 79:1!
"O God, the nations have come into your inheritance; They have defiled your holy temple; They have laid Jeruselum in a heap of ruins."
Ohhh yes! Exactly! And now they are scurrying around trying to fix it! Cover it up is the exact truth.

if so, how did you feel about it once you came out of the cult and figured out that everything you'd been taught about the new system coming soon, and loved ones being resurrected was a big fat lie you'd been spoonfed?

This caught my eye because of a phone call we received last night.
Our cousin drowned yesterday inhis own fathers pool. Although he was 25 and most likely drinking, this doesn't make the pain any different.
And out of 5 children this is the second son they have lost.
What devastation!
All these kids were raised around the org. The parents divorcing and abuse and hypocrisy is the reason reason these kids drink. Although the GOOD JW family, you couldn't tell them that. "It happened cause he's a drunk and not at the meetings."
OH what anger one can possess at a moment like this....
The division for decades that has gone on in this family and that WTBS is the main blame. They will answer. Yes, one does need to look in the mirror and take responsibility, but it is so hard for some babies that have been so abused and misled and guilt ridden.
Compassion, forgiveness and mercy and love is what is needed at this time. Fat chance it will be flowing.
Dad and Mom although remarried three times, may not truly see the root of the problem. Dad goes to meetings every blue moon, drinks but tells his kids its the truth and you need to be at meetings.
Mom goes more, but casts stones and removes straws any opportunity she gets. But don't know how often SHE actually looks in the MIRROR.
Oh sigh What a week ahead of us. BIG BIG family.

The name. It is JAH! (pronouced YAH)
The WTBS has done so many things in the name of JEHOVAH to bring reproach and disgrace on it, that he has seen to it that they can't reproach the true name.
They took JEHOVAH from YHWH when in actuality it is JHVH JaH VeH
pronounced Yah Veh.
PSALMS 68:3 tell us "....Jah is his name."
That is why we say HALELU JAH! Praise Jah (Yah)

i read your post on your appeal letter and my husband and i did the exact thing 3 1/2 yrs ago with our elders.. we met at first with our three elders, three times.. then when we appealed we met with six elders from redding ca.. the big guys.

WRONG!!!!!
The exact same thing happened. We were bsptized in 1976 and 1977 so we did not say yes to the same questions as the ones in 1985 are worded.
It didn't matter to them though. They knew us as completely loyal JWs that knew we were to give our loyalty to the org for life. We were raised in it all our life and knew that disagreeing in apostacy.
We answered many other questions for our baptism. 120 remember?
They covered many things about the structure and support of them, and we said "YES"
Sooooo....
we knew in our hearts that they were going to do what they were going to do and it didn't matter what we said or did at the time.
But appealling is the best way. It gives them the opportunity to see hopefully that what they are doing is wrong and unjust.
They wanted us to write a letter and disassociate ourselves. We said "NO"....
You will have to carry the bloodguilt of putting innocent people to death spiritually, and you will answer for it.
They actually think we're dead, but we all know we are VERY MUCH alive in Jahs eyes and have been blessed beyond compare ever since we have stood up for truth and continued to follow the masters lead.
He now truly dwells in us as the temple, his true servants, feeding us spirtually. We no longer need a handmade temple to worship out of thinking he dwells there.
We have come into that covenant that we have been denied ALL our life.
JOHN 6:48-58 and now belong to our lord and pray we remain in union with him and that he uses us to bring glory to him and allow us to produce true fruits of the spirit. JOHN 15:1-7
His load is truly light compared to mans.
We continue to pray that all our family may come to see this one day also.

Do not worry about man and what they can do...It is nothing compared to the love, approval and mercy we feel in Jah and his sons care!

when i would question my mother about certain scriptures, she would always make the comment that the bible is only written for the 144,000. is there any truth to that?
(i know there isn't, but is that what the jw's teach?
) when she said that, i was just blown away because of all the years i was a witness, i had never heard that.

Technically YES. When its convenient the org has always taught the scriptures were written for the anointed. But since the great crowd who are NOT in the covenant (not allowed actually) want life through it, it is written as a guideline for them also.
Which...is actually unscriptural!
you see those NOT in the covenant NOT part of the body Not making up the temple are NOT TO BE MEASURED the same as those anointed.
REVELATION 11:1&2 John is told to get up and measure the TEMPLE and the altar and those worshiping in it, which would be the anointed.
Then John is told as for the COURTYARD that is OUTSIDE the temple, not to measure it for it has been given to the nations.
That would be ALL not part of the TEMPLE or the anointed as we know it.
Since the great crowd do NOT profess such anointing it is unscriptural to put them under the same scrutiny as the body of christ.
YET THEY DO! They expect exactly the same requirements under the covenant arrangement yet do not allow them to be part of it and BELONG to the CHRIST!
WHAT A HORRIBLE SHAME!
Yet they call themselves "Israel." The non-priestly tribes. Why in the world aren't they allowed in that same covenant then?

Tell me this, "How can you receive that same spirit and not be anointed with it?"

There is an argument for it from the WTBS. But it it hog wash.
