The Major League Baseball All-Star Game.....And, An Assembly

folks: well, here in the united states, tonight, july 19th, is when the mlb all-star game will be played.

and, it will be played at dodger stadium, in los angeles, california.

for those of you who don't know, the all-star game is a game in which members of the american league teams compete with members of the national league teams.

Folks: Well, here in the United States, tonight, July 19th, is when the MLB All-Star Game will be played. And, it will be played at Dodger Stadium, in Los Angeles, California. For those of you who don't know, the All-Star Game is a game in which members of the American League teams compete with members of the National League teams. Myself, I plan to watch it on TV.

But, while watching it, I can think back, that on this date, in 1969, I was THERE, in that stadium. Yes, 53 years ago today I was attending the 5th day of the "Peace On Earth" International Assembly of the JWs. It was a 6-day assembly, that began on Monday of that week, and went until Sunday, July 20th. (That was the day that the first humans arrived at Luna---the Moon) It was an assembly that began at 9:00 a.m. every day, and lasted for 12 hours. Now, of course, we had intermissions during the day, and we usually had a break of about 2 hours every late afternoon. I myself, volunteered to work in one of the refreshment stands during the assembly. Oh, what fun we had that week!

So, for anyone reading this post, Were YOU there that week? What was YOUR experience with a 6-day or a 7-day international assembly? Best Regards....And, GO Baseball Teams!.....Titch.

i know there was a leak a few weeks back, but this really does seem to have come out of the blue.. the anomaly was the original decision.

it clearly had no basis in law or the constitution, and was a flimsy, ridiculous ruling.

I believe that people such as TonusOH and others have responded quite well, in accordance with what I was trying to point out. My thought was, If spontaneous abortions, or, miscarriages, are nature's way of terminating or ending a pregnancy---and they happen more often than we might think--- then why do some people have an objection when some---not all---female human beings, choose to have an abortive procedure, when they come to the realization that they are pregnant? Let me clarify something: I might have mentioned this in a previous response, but I'll repeat it here: I have absolutely no "skin in the game" in this issue. I have never, ever wanted to perpetuate the human race by contributing to the production of " cranking out babies" onto the face of Planet Earth. And, I have not done so. But, let me be clear on this: I am of the "pro-choice" mindset. That's right---pro-choice. I firmly believe that an adult female, when she comes to the realization that she is pregnant, should have the right to choose how to proceed with the pregnancy, whether to continue with it, let the fetus develop for 9 months and give birth to a baby at that point----or, to terminate the pregnancy at a reasonable, feasible time. The choice should be left up to the female who is pregnant. Not some governmental entity...not some religious entity. So, hey, if the individual states in the United States are now going to decide whether to have abortion legal or illegal in their own respective states, then so be it. Let's see what happens in 10, 15, or 20 years.

I never had a happy birthday this year 5/7

my wife had a hip replacement on june the 17th and while the op itself was apparently succesful ,she has had a reaction to the anesthetic ?

and has suffered delirium and is still in hospital with no apparent improvement.. its been very distressing for me to say the least.

sorry if i sound a bit morbid but i just had to share,.

Smiddy3: Correct me if I am wrong on this, But, didn't you have hip replacement surgery sometime last year? I think that you and I had a conversation about our own surgeries, and I must say, that I did not have any reaction to the anesthesia, and you didn't also. So, I don't know, if this is a common happening, or if just happens to a certain percentage of surgery recipients. I do hope that the effects will go away very soon. Best Regards,

Responding to LoveUni: By my quoting the writing of Sam Harris, what I was trying to point out is that, maybe, just maybe a miscarriage is nature's way of ending...terminating...aborting...a pregnancy? Could be, could be. And, I wish that people would stop using that terminology "unborn babies." A fetus is not an unborn "baby." A fetus is just that...a fetus. It is a pre-birth fetus. It is not a full-fledged, viable human being. During the 9-month period inside the womb of my mother, I was just that, a pre-birth fetus. And, for the first few weeks of my mom's pregnancy, I was merely a "clump of cells." A globule of cells. I didn't have any conscious thoughts, any ideas, any concepts. I was not a "cute pre-born baby." A fetus. That's all.

OH...NO! Watchtower Has A New Rule Related To Dress And Grooming

the new head-of-the-house max has a problem with how his new stepdaughter (olivia) looks and dresses.. on the friday afternoon part 2 convention video @ 18:10 max 1st brings it up with olivia while in the kitchen!

then fast forward to 26:50 thru 27:65 max bellyaches to new wife (olivia's mother) & it's handled!

Folks: WEll, if I were still a JW, I would have no problem with beach sandals, worn in an appropriate setting. But, I've seen some people---mostly young persons---both male and female---wearing that new "fashion" of ripped jeans. And, the thought that goes through my mind is "Come on people, show a little class, please!" But, that's just my "take" on the trend in clothing. Best Regards, Everyone.

UK Contaminated Blood Scandal

up to 30,000 people contracted hiv and hepatitis c in the 1970s and 80s after being given blood treatments or transfusions on the nhs.. thousands have since died.. it just goes to show there is no such thing as a sure thing.. the wts may be wrong about their blood doctrine, and their bible interpretation to justify it, and how they enforced the rules about it, but ultimately may be correct in claiming that "bloodless surgery" was a safer option medically.. canada also had a contaminated blood scandal, where 30,000 were infected with hepatitis c and hiv.. in other news, paying for blood from high-risk donors is a bad idea.

Well, yes, of course, Mr. Simon, there is never a thing such as a "sure thing." But, here is something to think about: Being an Amateur Radio Operator, over the years, I would buy magazines that are "geared" to Amateur Radio. And, one such magazine is "73 Amateur Radio Today." The Publisher of that magazine was Mr. Wayne Green, who had the call sign of W2NSD. And, each month, he would write a column called "Never Say Die." In the March 2001 issue of that magazine, he had a sub-topic titled "Transfusions."

Now, to the best of my knowledge, Mr. Green was never a Jehovah's Witness while he was alive. But, in that column, he wrote this: "Doctors are doing millions of blood transfusions every year, and I'll bet you're completely convinced that this is a good, life-saving procedure. My advice? Do everything you can to avoid one!

"I used to work in an office on 43rd Street in Manhattan. On the floor below our publishing offices was a blood bank, so I got a good look at their clientele over the five years I worked there---it was mostly homeless winos, getting enough money for another bottle of the cheapest wine they could find.

"As I've mentioned , every cell in your body, and that includes every cell in your blood, is in constant contact with every other cell, even when separated from you by thousands of miles. When you get a transfusion of someone else's blood, you're getting a part of them integrated into your mind/body system, and not just your body. You'll also get a good collection of any poisons they were carrying around, such as alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, and any other drugs, viruses, microbes, parasites, fungi or yeasts in their blood. And maybe some toxic metals, too.

"If you think I'm exaggerating, you haven't bothered to read The Secret Life of Your Cells yet. I've reviewed it in my editorial, and in my Secret Guide to Wisdom. Even though the new blood is the same type as yours, it is from another person and your immune system will get busy eliminating the invader. That's just what you need at a time when you need all of the strength your immune system can muster to help you recover from whatever caused the doctors to give you the transfusion.

" If you have made any effort to develop your psychic ability, once you've had a transfusion you'll be able to pick up many of the thoughts and feelings of the person from whom you've received the blood. One woman wrote a book about an organ transplant where she was able to sense the name of the donor and feel his feelings. And, thousands of people have reported weird things resulting from blood transfusions. A recent lab test with cells from an athlete's heart beat exactly in pace with his heart as he walked and ran, even though he was miles away."

So, those are the thoughts/words from Wayne Green, W2NSD, the Publisher of 73 Amateur Radio Today, who, as I mentioned, was NOT a Witness, as far as I know. Just something to think about.---Best Regards....

Here's something to consider: I read this in a book entitled "Letter to a Christian Nation", written by Sam Harris. In that book, he made this observation: "Of course, the Church's position on abortion takes no more notice of the details of biology than it does of the reality of human suffering. It has been estimated that 50 percent of all human conceptions end in spontaneous abortion, usually without a woman even realizing that she was pregnant. In fact, 20 percent of all recognized pregnancies end in miscarriage. There is an obvious truth here that cries out for acknowledgment: if God exists, He is the most prolific abortionist of all." So, think about this: If it is true that 50 percent of all conceptions end in spontaneous abortion---or, a miscarriage---without the woman even realizing that she IS pregnant---then, who, or what---is responsible for that termination of the existence of a fetus? God? Allah? Yahweh? A supreme being? A deity? The Universe? Just "nature" taking its course? Who? What? Just wondering. Best Regards, Everyone.
