Village Idiot: (Which you are NOT): Well, I, myself, am totally baffled, flabbergasted...gobsmacked---as to how to send a PM to someone else, too!!! I haven't figured it out either. I guess that in time, things will all be "sorted out" on the new & improved site. It's easy enough to post a reply to someone---that's fairly easy, but I can't, like you, figure out how to send a PM to another user. It'll all come in time, I suppose. In the mean time, I'll keep your post in mind. Best Regards...

Well, don't consider yourself as an "idiot". You have expressed yourself in this post very well.
So, I am assuming, from your timeline, that you were born around 1960? Is that correct? If you were baptized at the age of 14 at Dodger Stadium, that was probably around 1974. I was there, too. So, we may have crossed paths somewhere in the corridors of D.S. Or, maybe not. Either way, thanks for your post, and Best Regards

i wish i can meet others like me, that have woken up.. thanks!.
Hardtobeme: I am located in Orange County, also...Santa Ana, to be precise.
i was baptized at the 1976 "sacret secret" dc at inglewood ca there must have been 50,000 people there..
To tinker: How interesting. I'm sure that somewhere, WAAAAY back then in 1967, our paths probably crossed at the D.C. at the Orange County Fairgrounds. Either for District Conventions, or Circuit Assemblies. Nowadays, I go to the Orange County Fair each Summer at the same Fairgrounds! But, my, how the Fairgrounds property has changed since 1967! Best Regards...

To tenyearsafter: Back in 1977, the Hollywood Park Race Track (in Inglewood) was used for District Conventions. I, myself, was there. The Race Track was used once again, during the Summer of 1979, for District Conventions. I've heard that the H.P.R.T. has either been demolished, or soon will be. The property was sold, and it's about to be demolished, or probably has been. (I haven't driven by the Race Track in years.) I enjoyed it as a venue for District Conventions, though---it was right under the flight path of Los Angeles International Airport, and you could see huge jets, like Boeing 747s, or DC-10s, or Lockheed TriStars on Final Approach to the runways over there. It was neat to watch them.
A side-note, kind of off-topic, but I'll mention it anyway:
I believe that the Race Track was used in the Summer of 1976, also. I had brought a multi-band radio receiver, that picked up the aviation frequencies, with me, in my car to the convention. After the session was over, I was in the car, listening to Los Angeles Tower on that radio. There was one airliner, that had turned onto Final Approach, and the pilot asked the Tower Controller, if he knew what was happening at the Race Track, as there were all kinds of cars in the parking lot, people milling about, but with no horse-races going on. The Controller replied, with, "I don't know either, maybe they are showing some kind of movie over there." True story! It got a little bit of a laugh out of me, at the time. If only the pilot and the Tower Controller REALLY knew.....

is it ok to spank your kids?
is it ok to discipline them using any force?.
.
All of these responses to the OP of Minimus are rather revealing of a mind-set, an attitude of many Witnesses from as far back as I can remember. And, it's an attitude that my own mom fought against She died, oh so many years ago, and she passed away as a Witness. But while she was a Witness, she was a "champion" for childrens rights, and dead-set against child abuse. Discipline of a child was certainly correct, but the child had to be of a REASONINGage, and not babies and/or toddlers. And it was never to be used for taking out your frustrations on a child. She was of the mind-set that children were definitely not "mini-adults". And, would you treat an adult with corporal punishment, if they" mis-behaved"at a meeting? My mom didn't think so. (And, what is mis-behavior, at a meeting, anyway?) And, I never thought so, either. So, why would you treat a child with corporal punishment? Way back in the late 70s, my mom and I were at at District Convention, and she personally saw a mother taking out her frustrations on a toddler-aged child who was sitting near her. That night, when we got home, she wrote a very lengthy letter to the Convnetion Chairman, expressing disgust at what she had seen that day. And, the next day, I personally delivered the letter to the Convention Chairman's office, and I told him that I personally agreed with the sentiments that she had written in the letter, even though I had not written it.
BTW, this reminds me of a book that I found out about through this Website. Its title is "The Spanking Room", written by William Coburn. Anyone read that book?
Best Regards Everyone

i suppose that this question falls under the topic of "personal experiences.
" so, i have a question for the members of the site: has anyone had any experience with a malady called "chlostridium dificille infection"?
either yourself personally, or a relative or a friend?
To Everyone That Has Responded: Thanks for your input. Like many persons, I got it when I was hospitalized a few months ago. While I was theree, in the hospital one attending physicain thought that I had pneumonia, and prescrbed an antibiotic. Another physician said that I DIDN"T have pneumonia. Talk about conflicting diagnoses!!! Anyway, I continued to take the antibiotic for the supposed pneumonia, while I was in the hospital, and after I was released. In early July, I had to be hospitalized again, for observation of a particular condition. I told the attending physician about the symptoms that I was having, and he directed me to give two stool samples. By the day that I was released, they FINALLY came back with a diagnosis of C.Diff. I was prescribed Flagyl, which I immediately went and obtained. I took3 pills per day, for 21 days. BUT---about 5 days after finishing the regimen, c.diff came back. I told my Primary Care Physician about this, and he prescribed some more Flagyl for me. I took two rounds of the dosage, for two 10-day periods. While taking the Flagyl, it seems to bring bodily functions back to normal. But, once again, after finishing the regimen, the malady came back. This time, my Primary Care Physican prescribed Vancomycin for me, in pill form. But, the Vanco in pill form was extremely expensive. My insurance plan would not pay for it, even part of it. (I think, depending on dosage, it would cost anywhere from $400.00 to over $1000.00) So, I got information ffrom reliable sources, that Vancomycin could be obtained in compounded, liquid form, for a LOT less money (about $75.00 for a full bottle of it). That's what I got a prescription for, from a compounding pharmacy, and I consumd it. And, while taking Vancomycin, bodily functions seem to get back to normal. I have finished the bottle of Vancomycin, but there are some days that I think that the c.diff has gone away, and some days when I think that it has recured.
Anyway, my Primary Care Physician has advised me to take at least two probiotic pills every day. Does anyone else have experience with probiotic pills? Do they help at all, with regards to c.diff? Your input is appreciated. Thanks!
