the short answer on MS to elder.... however long it takes the brother in quesiton to convince the elders at their respective halls. Thats all it comes down to. I know because I argue for brothers all the time who get shot down for personality conflicts and nothing else.

i will add only this... I am an elder who has a pioneer for a wife. Between us we are lucky to get an hour or so a week of time together. Thats a generous estimate. The point that Jeff made is very valid. Its a treadmill of always so much to do for the kingdom. In the last four weeks that I have slowed down I have gotten so much done, seen my kids more than I ever dreamed I would and even got to have a little QT with the wife. My house is even clean for the first time in forever. I already hear you saying that the bible dosent advocate ignoring your wife and family. and your right it dosent. but the Branch does. Sacrifice for the Kingdom. give your all. the end is nigh. time for the wife and kids later, in the new world. I dont know if your married and have kids but some things give you persepective like no other... just sayin..

i sent them a short facebook message and it seems their parent intercepted it...they asked if i sent anything to their kid today.. i said it jws are cultlike, i had doubts i wished i listened to, and to follow their heart.

the only other idea is play the "in the heat of the moment, had a bad day routine" you were feeling a lot pressure (scriptures say opression can make a wise man act crazy) and deny you really meant any of it.
or own up to it. say "hell ya i said it and i'll say it again". You'll get DF'd, but you'll go out proud.
i'm not trying to be overly funny, or insensitive, but it really is a very tough situation. You have to decide if your ready to stand up and make your move or play the humble repentant card and wait it out.
i guess that's not the most interesting sounding topic, but i've been reading william schnells book "into the light of christianity" and came across something that i thought was totally profound.

i know this may be a touchy subject, but it's something that i think has been so obvious for the last few weeks at the meetings.
let me start by saying that i do understand the "headship" arrangement, and agree that it is biblical.. but it seems that the tendency is to take it way too far.
whenever speaking about training children, i've noticed that the boys are told to be trained by their fathers in various types of work, including trades.
Why do you think women can't do anything in the congregation? Can they even work the sound mixer? Nope. How bout Mics? Nope. How bout give out magazines or territory? Nope. But they CAN prepare meals for the pioneer school. The CAN help clean the KH. Isn't that nice
Oh but you are wrong about that Dan. Sis can do all those things you mentioned... IF there is no brother available to do it. its in the OD book. To one up you on something else... when i was at bethel we had to go through "housekeeper training". The sole intent was to show us new boys what it was like to be a lowly housekeeper. I'm not kidding. It was concidered demeaning to have to go through this training before we were assigned our "big boy" jobs. I hated it even then. I REALLY got to hate it once i got to know some of the housekeepers. they turned out to be great sisters and very good friends. I have a long standing gripe with the way women are looked down on in this organization. The sad reality is that many sisters are far smarter and much more capable and kind than some of the elders i serve with. If you want to have men "take the lead" in a garden of eden type sense, fine (see blondie's comments from this weeks WT) but the way our org portrays it sends it down the dominering route.
