What will they say as to why they don't celebrate ThanksGiving??
by lavendar ini plan on inviting a close family member ..(who has been a jw for several years).. to share thanksgiving with us this year.
my husband and i have never been jws.
what exactly is a jw's reason for not taking part in thanksgiving??.

let me really give some active JW's something to think about.. not only did my family, for years, have a BIG meal on thanksgiving day, with turkey and all the works, and get away with not calling it thanksgiving,
we used to invite the CO and his wife. They came almost every year.

Mistresses??
by diana netherton inwhat are your thoughts on them?
would i be a simply terrible person if i became one?.
.

mistress has a certain quality about it that is somewhat honorable. A man is in a bad marriage, he stays for the kids etc etc.. his only method of coping is the woman he loves but cannot marry. Somewhat honorable and endearing
however, what you are talking about prostitution. you need a new thread.

The Sleeping Spirit Doctrine...Can "You" Survive?
by Cold Steel inmy late grandmother died in terror of having her spirit sleep at death.
just before she died, she was inundated by reading material from my aunt (who's jw).
it made her think of the cold clay in the grave as her destination after death, even if it was temporary.

here is the most recent food at the proper time on this:
***
w063/15p.4TheOnlyRemedy!***
After a person dies, what is resurrected? It cannot be the body, which decays and returns to the dust of the ground. What is resurrected is not the same body but the same person who died. Thus, resurrection involves the restoration of the life pattern of the individual—his personality traits, his personal history, and all the details of his identity.
Jehovah God, who is perfect in memory, has no problem remembering the life patterns of those who have died. (Isaiah 40:26) Since he is the Originator of life, Jehovah can readily bring back to life the same person in a newly formed body.
Clearly we are all memorex

I lol'd a little at your remarks misery becuase we have a well known college in our territory and have had similar situations. thankfull my congregation has lots of folks who went to college in it due to the affluent area we live in, so the comments are there but the out of towners dont get quite the cold shoulders

Baby Worship
by jambon1 ini remember when we had our 1st kid, there was an absolute ass hole of a pioneer elder in our hall.. when people were making a big deal of our newborn daughter, he made some remarks about 'baby worship'.. in conversation it turned out that he resented the adulation given to a new born baby & felt that the way witnesses acted around a newborn was over the top & inappropriate.. this arsepeice was childless.
he & his wife had decided to put kingdom interests ahead of having a family.
it will be interesting to see how he feels in his lonely old age, childless, bitter & still here, in this 'old system'.. no real surprise when you consider the actions of thousands of jw's as they shun their flesh & blood for the reason of disagreeing with the religion or other reasons.. it seems that in jw land, even loving your children too much is frowned upon.. .

That is what we like to call "passive agressive"... as you say, what an arse

For those who are being a hard on butterfly remember the reality here:
you can never unlearn
once you take the red pill you can never go back
you can put toothpaste back in the tube
etc
etc
etc
Butterfly will always know the truth about the org. There are many JW's and ex JW's who know the truth about the truth but still have many many happy memories and positive associations, and countless good friends among the sleeping. I completely understand the desire to go back, get reinstated and then fade if nothing else to get her family back. but I don't think she will ever fall asleep again. I also think its different for gals, to sit in front of the elders and play nice. I think as men we can't fake submission like that, at least i know i can't.
Butterfly I wish you all the best. Keep you sense, be watchful and get your family back.

need to get over it but cant :(
by bez ini text my little girls friends mum today as her daughter left some clothes (funnily enough, they were army pants and a t shirt, what ever happened to not supporting the army by not wearing calmoflage print etc!!!)..
i told her i would put them in a bag and told her she could call in for them whenever she was passing... anyway i just had my reply, hi, just keep them, *** will be out of them by next year anyway, so *** may as well just have them.
hope your all ok...x. so i take it thats her in basic words sayin... keep them cus i dont want to see you again and your apostate influence... i knew people would take this approach to our decision to not continue going to the meetings but i just am really struggling to deal with it without feeling like i have a disease that they do not want to catch :(.

"i think that *** should move out, he cant live here anymore if he is disfellowshipped".... :( How wrong is that!!
It is so wrong that it is denied on their own official public website for all to see.
sheep, I dont want to hijack a thread but what do you mean?
