Request for Australian research: ban on Jehovah's Witnesses in 1941
by JW83 ini am planning on revisiting my (academic) research into the banning of jws in australia in 1941, and was wondering if anyone would have contacts i could interview?
this is obviously a long shot (and it may be children/grandchildren) but i thought it may be worth a shot!.
i am an ex-jw and academic historian, you can see my former published work on jws here: http://www.flinders.edu.au/sabs/shir/our-research/research-journals/fjhp/2008.cfm.

JW Fraudster from "down under" - high profile
by sizemik init's an interesting story .
.. in 1992 johnston, a jehovah's witness who sometimes preached door to door, had started with an improbable goal: he would make a fortune selling nothing more than a concept.
it was a magic pill that cut emission and made fuel last longer.

So why
by bushido8000 init has become very apparent to me very quickly that this forum is dominated by ex-jws.
i have many questions and topics to present but i first want to know who i am presenting these questions and topics to so i have 2 questions that i would like as many of yall to answer as possible.. .
question 1: did you leave the organization out of the blue or were you first disfellowshipped?.

Australia: Ramifications of government watchdog's ruling on Scientology's use of unpaid laborers
by MrMonroe infair work australia, the government industrial law agency, has ruled that the church of scientology broke australian law by requiring employees to work long hours for as little as $10 a week.
the church's defence was that because it is a religious entity, its workers are not employees, but volunteers.. which all sounds a bit familiar!.
the agency also found that "a significant level of control and direction was applied to workers by more senior church members who hold positions of authority".

Published life story of Australian ex-Witness. An absorbing read.
by MrMonroe inthere are a number of books available on amazon giving the life stories of ex-witnesses.
i've always been intrigued by one called "i'm perfect, you're doomed" by kyria abrahams, which sounds like a witty read.
one day i'll buy it!.

It was sad looking at all of my congregation members yesterday!
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini went to the meeting yesterday and found it to be a sad experience.
(i've been fading over the years and down to 2 meetings per month).
i looked around and found that there are no new members.just family members and friends.
