Ever placed "Christian Freedom" at the doors?
by El blanko inwell, amazingly, i just passed on the book to a sister who knocked my door this morning, after a long, long chat.. what amazed me i suppose after isolating myself in my bubble for many years now, is that jws are basically humans afterall.
with a great degree of social apprehension towards us ex-jws of course, but never the less, human.. i assured her i had faded away, but still retained a moral code of behaviour.
she relaxed at that point.

Pope near death...
by Abaddon injohn paul ii has been given the holy viaticum (last sacrements).
he has a high fever, a urinary tract infection, and has difficulty breathing and swallowing.. he is concious and alert and has decided not to return to hospital.
although the health care at the vatican is excellent this is seen by commentators as an indication the pope is preparing to die, and wishes to do so at home.. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4399189.stm.

Witness Rictus
by Englishman ina few years back, there was a whole spate of pics appeared on the web showing jw's grinning inanely.
a lot of them were the work of the wt artists and featured ecstatic dubbies in paradise locations.
some of them were "set up pics" of happy bible studies or delighted householders for publication in the wt and awake.. the reason it's come to mind is because of the number of dubbies i see around my home town, especially in the supermarket.

so during all this time did you ever see happy person or a family or were you ever truly happy there, even for a brief period of time?

Hi there, Golf, my family & I used to have enthusiastic, spiritual high conversations in the car back home after assemblies & conventions. The rest of the time was okay - I used to like meetings. And most people seemed happy. Looking back I know I definitely wasn't happy & most of the people I loved/respected left somehow - although a good friend of mine won't leave because she has such a great family & lots of friends ...

Making new friends after fading
by M@el5trom inwhat are some good methods for finding and making new friends after fading away?
i know this is critical to help myself and my wife to move on, and we both have suffered from depression partly because we are isolated to each other for now.
we are good friends, but we both feel the need for others also.

Hi, I was actually surprised how easy it was to make friends! I was so used to thinking that 'worldly' people were so different - but now I have just as many friends as before - and they will still love me if I paint myself green & dance around naked (I hope)!! I found work, uni & mum's groups good - but also being willing to make the effort to call someone if they've given you their phone number or whatever. Good luck!
