  How many of you gave up a college scholarship?

  how many of you gave up a college scholarship to appear "spiritual"?

  jt's thread about "homegrown lawyers" and the wtbs willingly sending certain ones to college started me thinking about that question.

  i know i for one, relinquished that scholarship to show how "spiritual" i was at 18. .

  I just had to post on a topic so dear to my own heart! Life is short - if you want to go to university & it is at all possible, go!! Short-term financial stresses don't matter in the long-term, if it is something you really want to do & it will help make life more interesting & fulfilling. Don't give up on your dreams! I worked at admin jobs for 5 years & endured a horrible year 'studying' office administration because I was supposed to want to pioneer. I never really did pioneer (I was a regular auxiliary when I left), then went straight to uni, where I still am & which I love. Granted, it's not easy. I now have a husband & toddler to be responsible for, but I've learnt never to give up on my dreams. I'm not a natural optimist but doing it the dub way taught me to live for myself as much as possible now!

  Also - isn't it hypocritical how rising bethel stars get to study law when ordinary jws are denied any uni aspirations ...

  ... the world needs more window cleaners ...

  Austinmer/Bulli KH Burns! Arson?

  This is my parent's hall and my dad asked me, "Do you know anything about this?" LOL I wish! Apparently they're going on the top of the quickbuild list to get a nice new one - methinks an insurance job?!!

  How Easy Was It To Leave?

  when i was df, i actually wanted to return which isn't suprising when you look at their brain washing: * http://www.escapefromwatchtower.com/mind.html.

  i think it took me a couple of years to fully get over it and now the scripture "like a dog returning to it's vomit" comes to mind.. i gather some people here came to their senses while still in the org.

  did anyone actually find it easy to leave?.

  I found leaving easy - it all happened so fast! But staying out is a killer. I miss my best friend so much all the time and yesterday I even visited my KH (during the day!) just cos I missed it. (Crazy, I know). I was a witness from when I was 8 to 23, so I have heaps of memories wrapped up in the place and people. But overall, it's worth it - I've never been happier.

  1. i was born and raised in south georgia.. 2. my favorite subject in school was math.. 3. i was in the fulltime service (bethel and pioneer) for 4 years.. 4. my favorite color is blue.. 5. mitch and i have been together over 12 years.. 6. we live in a suburb of atlanta georgia.. 7. we love to eat out and have friends over for dinner and board games.. 8. the only sport i was ever any good at is tennis.. 9. my favorite tv show of all time is the simpsons.. 10. we are both naturists and wish we could lay on the beach naked every day.
