The very life of the organization hangs on the concept of DESTRUCTION.
It permiates every facet of the JWs world view. Destruction rears it`s
head in many areas of life...destruction of family relationship based
on people`s views regarding `The Truth`, destruction of people`s
emotional well being due to constant prodding and frequent guilt-trips
destrution of people`s financial well-being due to a false view of
the impending doom the world is facing and destruction of people`s
future goals due to relegating the rest of the world to the realm of
Satan....The list goes on. People who feed on destruction centered
teaching for years and years tend to revel in other people`s suffering
because it is more important to justify their world-view than it is
to care for other people with compassion and grace.

15sept 11 brings out JW blood-lust
by rcranor ini met a bunch of witnesses from my old congregation on a ferry to seattle a month ago.
i tried avoiding them but they spotted me and their was no escape.
they all seemed to be very jovial and asked me if i was going to the meetings.

Talked with a Japanese elder who recently da`ed today. He affirmed
that the handling of finances here in Japan raised many questions
in his mind about the organization. There was never any responsible
reporting beyond the level of the local congregation. Things go to
be too much for him so he left after years of special pioneering
and a stint at the Japanese Bethel.It is becoming more and more common for ELDERS to leave the organiza-
tion. He is the third such person I`ve met in the last several months. -

JW`s and families to attend. -

I think I mentioned a Protestant pastor who was being sued by the
Watchtower for infringment of a JWs religious freedom. I found out
the first hearing in the higher court was held today. There is an
intense battle being waged here in Japan over the issue of personal
rights verses the will of the family. That comes into play when
families oppose a JWs religious activities and try to use different
methods to `expose` the WT. Traditionally the will of the family at
large has taken precedence over individual`s desires and beliefs, but
the trend of late is in a `westernized` direction, i.e.the will of
the individual regardless of what that may or may not mean.JWD

A good friend of mine has been working in northern Pakistan for
18 years. He speaks Pushtoon fluently and has many friends who are
from Afganistan. We were comparing the fundamentalist Islamic world
view and the WT world view and were amazed at the similarities we
came up with.JWD

I was very aware of the 91 WT article you refered to.In the past there
have been `pastoral` visits to former JW`s here in Japan. My point was
and still is that in past years the emphasis was very much on going after new blood and not on giving the `unfaithful` a second chance. Whereas of late desparation among the leadership due to falling numbers has made them place more emphasis on bringing back former JWs.I just noticed that the WT homepage has a bit about JWs and disaster
relief.It referred to how they helped out after the Kobe earthquake
in 1995. The truth is the WT was famous for limiting their aid
almost exclusively to JWs. Sixth days after the earthquake I trekked
into the city of Kobe and helped deliver food and aid to homeless
people along with thousands of other ordinary citizens. We made several trips and were very aware of what was going on. Shortly after
the earthquake one sister who lived across the river from Kobe in
Osaka told me how the WT organized relief in the various KHs but only
delivered it to JWs in the disaster striken city. I was reminded of the verse in Mathew which says `What`s so special about greeting your
brothers? Even the gentiles do that.`

Until about two years ago df-ed and da`s were avoided like the
plague. There were enough new recruits coming in that the WT in
Japan didn`t bother with trying to get wounded sheep back into the
org. It was more of a hassle to re-educate the tainted ones than it
was to indoctrinate new blood. These days, however, there just aren`t
any new ones coming in. I knew that the U.S. had been recycling for
some years because they stopped growing years ago. But here in Japan
it`s still a relatively new thing. JWD -
