i used to say the same thing when i first joined. but then it dawned on me--its a site for jay-dubs (in or out )----therefore its done on a shoestring---no money!!

even though i do not stop by much anymore, i wonder why it has not been upgraded or changed to a more modern format.

Why has the WT not tried to shut down this board?
by hamsterbait inwe all know that beth hell monitors this site.. they have repeatedly had sites shut down for quoting large portions of their litterature.
not this one.. do you think this board enables them to keep a finger on the pulse of what is going on in ex and aposto land?

the watchtower society is just a tiny minority religion---just as the total membership here represents a tiny fraction of that society. i can imagine they "spin" this site as some sort of satan-inspired opposition to jehovah.

i was just looking through www.reddit.com/r/exjw and there is a thread that was posted about four hours ago with the title "so our circuit overseer just got disfellowshipped" and there some basic details in their op.
the location is given as central coast, australia, which is north of sydney.. there aren't many more details other than "it has sent shockwaves throguh the congregations" and a query on the protocol in situations like this.

the simple fact is--in the UK there are very few proper jobs available for most young people---its a pointless wild goose chase for many. so--they start young families--get state benefits including housing costs paid--and often get more than they could hope to earn --IF they could get a job.
so--what else are they supposed to do?

i got a christmas card--from my d/f son. never ever had a card from any of my kids before.
