  what is the(or what was your) main motivation for serving god as a jw(or any christian)?.

  a) love for god and genuinely trying to learn more about him and bible truths?.

  b) to escape punishment/death at armegddon?.

  JW Literature... Lots of it... what to burn and what to keep?

  i have lots and lots of watchtower literature... and i don't know what could be useful in the future to have as a reference or as a keeper.

  i am definitely keeping the 1993 and 1994 bound volumes of the awake!

  (no, we are not false prophets... down in the same page, the generation of 1914 will not pass... also the youths who put god the watchtower first).

  once you recognize that the contributions you gave for the upkeep of your place of worship have been given to the corporation and will only be used to upkeep your place of worship at their discretion...the caption will become your mantra!.

  i took over my elderly fathers affairs 17 months ago. i discovered he had previously donated a lump sum of £5000 UK sterling--towards a hall purchase fund. that hall was susequently sold off.

  he also donated £100 a month out of his pensions.

  not any more LOL.

  as an aside--he has been in a care home since then.. no elders have been near him in months--just a 90 year old sister who lives nearby. whilst he is physically worn out--his mind is still active. he hasnt attended the last 2 memorials---nor any meetings. there is no watchtower literature in his room--only a bible tucked away somewhere. i wonder if he has finally found TTATT

  well my wife and i still arent attending meetings....we first agreed to go here and there...oops.

  anyways we missed the last meeting and suddenly our phone blew up!

  for a while--i was on a few FB sites used by many african jw's---they use the word JAH all the time. i made the point that it wasnt endorsed by the wts--to no avail---like talking to the living dead.

  why not use the word JOVE---or--better still--JUPITER---all mean the same--all wrong.

  Can White JWs Have Mustaches?

  someone mentioned in another thread that white jws can't have mustaches but black jws can.

  i noticed that the only governing body member with a mustache is black.

  can anyone confirm that this is an official policy?
