  Why do you believe the bible? or not?

  when i began questioning the religion i used the bible and their own statements to prove them wrong.

  now, recently, i have began to realise that maybe the only reason i put any faith in the bible is because i was always raised to.. so my question is, after leaving the watchtower, what was it that made you decide the bible was worthy of belief?.

  i am not asking about any continuing belief in god or disbelief, i am more conscerned about the first step (to me) right now of the bible itself.

  My biggest problem with believing in the bible (apart from many other smaller ones) is that God often states that he is loving and righteous, but his actions show otherwise. Just look for example how many times he made the pharaoh's heart obstinate so he could kill him and many of his people.

  Let's say that I convince George W. Bush to invade Iraq, and then proceed to kill him, his soldiers and every firstborn US citizen because of it. Am not I to blame?

  This is just one example of the many unrighteous and hateful actions of God detailed in the bible.

  a full billboard ad in my area along a busy heavily travelled highway would cost about $500.

  would probably get lots of attention and maybe even a news article, who knows.

  $500 is cheap and easily affordable.

  1967 Wierdest Yearbook experience EVER! Witness silences talking snake!!

  yearbook 1967 p.105 "a large crowd was following a man who had a talking serpent...the serpent gave greetings and spoke in foreign tongues {college educated no doubt he he}...a brother passing by went into the house, as soon as he entered the room the serpent stopped talking.

  the man cried out:"a magican has entered the room!...the brother asked the man: "is that a serpent or a demon that has spoken to you?....not one serpent has spoken except in the garden of eden"...seeing that the serpent remained silent the man left the house...he later was anxious to get some literature...".

  how did this stupid experience get passed the bethel bullcrap detector???

  Of course they don't, because it is stated in Acts 10:7 that you should not transfer from house to house. Of course the governing body would not ignore Jesus command as they adhere to Bible Truth™.

  how do you deal with jw relatives who say; "can i just ask you one thing?".

  seems obvious that you'd willingly answer their question right?

  i mean, it's good that they're asking questions, maybe they're waking up and it might start them on their journey out of the wt.. but.. i've got one real hardcore jw sibling.

  You have freedom of speech as long as you never disagree with the teachings of the WTS, or better said, you have no freedom of speech at all.

  You should reply "Only if I can answer your question truthfully without being reported to the elders or risk disfellowshipping, no matter what I say."

  And even if they agree, they can change their mind afterwards and report you.

  10 Predictions of 2011

  if everyone else can do these, get 90% wrong, and still be given the chance to do it again the next year ... like their an expert!

  well then, i am going to, as well.. 1. isreal will have a full invastion happen, from two countries at once, in 2011. this will trigger a nato response and a local nuclear attack on a military target.. 2. within three months of marriage, prince william will annouce that his new wife is expecting.. 3. the us economy will show a bounce back, until gas prices sky rocket in the summer and send it skidding down again at a faster rate then before.

  people will blame what ever party they do not vote for, ... and george w bush.. 4. massive flooding will happen in the united states, northwest region, as the massive snow falls and cold winters are met with faster then expected higher temps in the spring.. 5. a massive hurricane will hit the east coast, and be followed with one of equal power within only two days.

  Your predictions are way too specific.. you should try something like this:

  "And after the great storm, a giant snake will rise up from the oceans, and the snake will vomit 12 lions unto the land of great trees. Two of these lions will gain wealth unheard of, whilst the other lions will become enslaved. And there will be weeping and gnashing of the teeth."

  I'm sure in January of 2012 I will be able to apply this prophecy to something that happened in 2011.

  when the great day of reckoning comes, whether it be from ufo alien invaders, realian reptilian over lords, demons in human-hybrid form, or just plain old virus-infected zombies, what will you be carrying to defend yourself from the hostile forces of e-vile?
