You got it. I have seen it all, done it all and kind of know it all. 55 years in it. See my first post. What is the debate? I have an open mind and can wrestle with the best. I have taken on Cos and high ups and over the years. Am still attending and in good standing. Bring it on.

I have an old Golden Age magazine that states since the days of the week are Pagan names they need to be renamed. It went so far as saying calenders are pagan, one shouldn't use them and the new theocratic names for months, days of the week and years counting from creation day were to be used. It was quackery at it's finest. Unbelievable words written down for the building up of the cong!

Bane MadJW and other apologist please justify ......................
by cantleave inin light of the following scripture:-.
there are six things that jehovah does hate; yes, seven are things detestable to his soul: lofty eyes, a false tongue, and hands that are shedding innocent blood, a heart fabricating hurtful schemes, feet that are in a hurry to run to badness, a false witness that launches forth lies, and anyone sending forth contentions among brothers.

I have heard it explained this way - "Not giving out the entire detailed facts. Withholding information to those not entitled to it. Then quoting Jesus who remained silent when asked some questions, such as, "Are you a king?"
I guess you could claim ignorance, amnesia, stupidity or the cat's got my tongue, or ask these 2 big guys standing next to me (angels)!

At the tribulation your children may be taken from you like in nazi Germany
by jambon1 init is incredible the amount of scaremongering that jw's carry out.. this was one that always plagued me when i was still trying to grasp onto my beliefs as a jw.. either in wt study or in private discussion, this topic would come up.. what a horendous outlook of the future.
to be in absolute fear that the authorities might take your children away from you.
that you might suffer torture.

Survival bags - they had an letter read in the US showing the unpredictable nature of the times and disasters occuring. They said it would be prudent to have a disaster preparedness drill once a year in areas prone to hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, etc. They wanted all contact phone numbers, cell & work numbers and additional contact for emergency. That way if a disaster broke out, the BOEs and COs can all report to HQ. The supplies to have on hand were to be in the home (enough for a week for each family member), and also in the car. We had a an elder ask constantly - "Do you have your disaster preparedness kit setup at home & in the car?" Many said, how loving the GB was to inform us of this and to account for all the sheep. Much like, "Have you filled out an updated Medical Alert DPA form?" How about - "You must arrive at the meetings early, because if you're late we have the doors locked!" Fear, paranoided and absolute trust in the GB, not common sense.

tract campaigns
by seenitall inwhy the tract & invitation campaigns?
it is the only way to get the regular pubs out into the field.
there is now a general letdown of activity to go out, followup and keep going.

Why the tract & invitation campaigns? It is the only way to get the regular pubs out into the field. There is now a general letdown of activity to go out, followup and keep going. Using the little invitations is easy, even a baby can hand them out and count time. Look at the big figures and doing it every 3 months we don't have anyone inactive. So, the COs look good, the congs look good, territories are worked every 6 months and wow look at the buzz of activity. But, what are the cold facts & figures? Are Memorial attendences up and conventions bursting at the seams? By inviting the public the JWs look more mainstream and are not a secret society. But, what if a direct mail, radio and TV spots, internet ads, etc were used? There would be more attendence. Thioughts?

Don't question anything, Jehovah will make it right. Look the other way, that is what we will do for you.
At our local cong picnic - "you don't know how to drink - here have a straight shot of gin" (from 2 local elders) - I was a new boy all of 19 years old - it was legal to drink then.

Is there anything wrong with "United in Worship" book?
by Albert Einstein infew months ago in my country (eastern europe) a letter was read in congregation, that the "united in worship of the only true god" (the blue book people studied as a second book after "you can live forever"...) is updated an replaced by another book and all publishers should bring their copies to elders.
the reason presented was that brothers (due to efficiency) want to recykle the books ecologicaly (iam not making this up).
it was literally said, that all books should be taken to the kh and not a single copy should be kept home.. when my mil told us that (we were not going to meetings at that time already with my wife) i told her, that as far as i know brothers do not have any recykling facility and if they do and want to be ecological, they should ask for all updatet publications, not just for this book.

Ah, the old peach colored bomb. It was shear terror looking at the artwork - swords, babes offered up to Baal and esp. the big A! Us kiddies would go and hide. They never collected the old books. I still have mine and remember studying with many young ones in the 60s with it and then the great teacher book. Oh, to be young again. And don't forget the old Heritage Movie. Heard from a CO in Brooklyn that most of the kids in it fell out the Truth later. Maybe a bit too much of US Glass bombing out the words about the days back then. Have to love it!

end times - the worse of the worse
by seenitall inimagine living during ww2 - the threats of the big bomb, fear, great depression just ending and then - peace can it last?
conditions then were so much worse than now - shorter life expectancy, lack of food, communism and other fears!
having asked my relatives who lived through then and now my parents approaching their end, they all said that that time was the worst!

Conditions then were so much worse than now - shorter life expectancy, lack of food, Communism and other FEARS! Having asked my relatives who lived through then and now my parents approaching their end, they all said that that time was the worst! Also, imagine living during the dark ages, WW1, or other dark periods of history. Everyone has experienced the last days. Pushing, pushing and more pushing by JWs to get the end day here will not happen. Only Jeh and now Jesus know that day, hour and time. Any attempt by us to push it, figure it out or do a tract campaign to get the old harlot mad and the governments stirred up will fail. What a joke this has been for so many of us growing up and then reading the past of the org. Sad but true, we may just continue on for an eternity with no end day in our lifetime or our childrens, grandchildrens or 5 generations down the road. What a farce trying to figure out dates, such a waste.
