  The problem is They never tell us what is the result if we don't follow them up anymore. When you buy a mobile phone, you sign-up a contract and the seller has responsibility to tell us everything beforehand, even if we thought we make a mistake to buy that model, he will tell us what will happen if we can not fulfill the contract. For a JW, He/or She only says what we can have (Paradise, Spiritual Paradise bla bla..) and never mentions about shunning procedure. Am I right ? Or they simply cheating Sellers ?

  What are some of the similarities between Mormonism and the J.W. cult?

  i am doing some research on mormons, along with the watchtower org., and i'm looking for similar beliefs between the two.. i found a few, (i think), like:.

  both believe in shunning.. both use the term "apostate".. both have "end time " predictions.... mormons = generation of 1832.. does anyone know of any other similarities?

  Both have some kinds of relation to Masonic (Mormons have their Headquater) JWs have their founder's tomb and Watchtower cover emblem till 1931

  i am an non-active jw for abaout a year, and during my inactivity i had grown a goatee (a beard at first).

  my family were no to happy about it,but made no big stink.

  one of my closest friends insists it is very bad.

  I remember the first edition of "Did man Get Here by Evolution or by Creation?" book has Adam on the first page (left hand side of Table of Contents) doesn't have beard, then latter on they reprint with beard.
  However, one MS in my congr. was reprooved in front of the congr. by an elder in KM meeting:"What ashameful of one brother who is wearing the beard while preaching the good news...bla bla..." Everyone looked at that brother. He then shaved his beard. Weird!

  Honest mistakes? The Governing Body's excuses for their actions

  the governing body tells us they are not false prophets because they admit their mistakes.. they only err because they are zealous to see the new order commence.. they are on the watch and warning everybody just like they are supposed to.. their doctrines change (new light) because they see and admit their errors.. what more can we expect of them?.

  is the governing body honestly doing the best they can?

  they are only human; how can we expect them to be perfect?.

  They never accept they made mistakes. They always said:"In the past, some witnesses made mistakes ..." so and so. With mistakes like associated with U.N. , our Rank&File (RF) witnesses were disfellowshipped straight away. We haven't heard any member of GB be disfellowshipped because of the decision to associate to U.N. for TEN years. Don't try to LIE to our fellows. What ashamed behaviour ! Disfellowship yourselves Guys.
  

  "In the past, some Witnesses have suffered for refusing to share in activity that their conscience now might permit. For example, this might have been their choice years ago as to certain types of civilian service. A brother might now feel that he could conscientinously perform such without overstepping his Christian neutrality regarding the present system of things" (Watchtower August 15, 1998 page 17, par.6-8), article about civilian services instead of military services. And on opposite page has a picture funeral scene , they(GB) has the caption"Even in the face of personal loss, we can be confident that Jehovah is righteous" to say about Witnesses who lost their lives for a stupid consciene set-up by Society [IF you did refuse that conscience, you surely were disfellowshipped when the changing-wind hasn't approved by GB yet]. See the caption of the picture? Even when they (GB) made mistake, it is the fault of Jehovah, not theirs. Many lost their lives in Communist & fanatic Muslim countries for refusing military service, by their own fault conscience, not because of GB. They never say sorry for those losses.

  dear brothers,

  it has been brought to our attention that certain brothers have had questions regarding the societies' membership as a non governmental organization with the united nations from 1991-2001. rest assured that we are no longer members, having removed ourselves from this organization over 3 years ago.

  it was only in our undaunted zeal to proclaim the good news to "all nations" (as was jesus' admonition), in these critical last days, that the faithful slave class approved membership as an ngo.

  Charles T Russell -a freemason and the connection to the illuminati...

  ok, i'm not one for conspiracy theories but lately i've uncovered some interesting facts that i think warrant some attention.. first of all, russell was a freemason.

  all the early watchtower and books he authored have freemason symbology and art throughout them.

  not a big deal i thought, until i read more about freemasons and the so-called "illuminati", a group of 13 families that supposedly control the world.. supposedly these 13 families, such as the duponts, mcdonalds, kennedys, .

  I just wonder Why the pyramid still has the name of the WTS on it (I know the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society" engarved on the pyramid before Rutherford took over from the hands of Bible Students). However why Society still allows Society legal name on a property not belongs to Watchtower Society (?).

  Imagine if someone start a brothel next to Brooklyn and raise high a banner "Watchtower Bible and Tract Society" on that brothel, what should happen ? It's time for Watchtower Society removed their name from the pyramid, they have legal right to do so. Why not do soon ?

  Ridiculous. I remember when my congr. first time launched WWW box at the end of KH. The Branch letter was read in KM meeting ask for every bros. and sis. should prepare a pouch seperate from their own wallet and "...better has "Donation Purse" or other words similar to.." Then the next meeting, the bro. who suggested it should say sorry to the idea and withdraw it because of gov't can catch "our minister" in doing selling publications in the name of "Donation" on purpose. He explained the idea did send to Branch and Branch excluded that silly idea further exlanation is if you receive donation, the action is not predictable. However in this case, you do have a pouch or purse with "Donation Money" on it, and you do mean the householders should contribute (or "donation" as sweettalk) money when you hand to them publications. I had no idea that time, but remember the congr. all agree to avoid taxation office will make trouble with purse has "Donation..." on it.

  We finally saw Fahrenheit 9/11

  dave got home early on wednesday so we hustled off to the afternoon showing.

  (cheaper seats).

  it was amazing...................very compelling, and thought provoking.. one of the most upsetting things was towards the end when he revealed that of all 96 (not sure of that number) members of congress (senate and house) only 1 member had a child in the military, actively serving.
