as an update she has decided not to move out right now...because she doesn't have anywhere to go.
but she is giving me the silent treatment.

most of us x-jw's at one point no doubt defended the jw's when called a cult.
althought being out since 95', when i first came here it took awhile before i could use the cult word to describe the jw religion.
finding out about the pedophile scandal was disgusting, but it was probably finding out here about the wts history and terrible personal experiences of some on this board that made me finally admit that the jw's were a cult.
Would street gangs fall under the cult rubrique?
Come to think about it... absolutely! You try to leave a gang and you're bound to pay a price for it, BIGTIME!
People trying to leave a gang often pay for it with their lives. Outsiders trying to oppose them often get crushed.

'k guys... if you're the romantic sort, let's talk about romance.
in my relationship, the mr is the tweety-hearts one, i'm the down to business one (if you follow my meaning - on the spectrum, he's on the romance end, i'm on the lust end).
what kinds of things, do you find romantic?
Doing things alone together, weekend trips away from the home and kids, long walks. It's important to keep "dating" after tying the knot. It's kinda weird to have to "work" at being romantic, but getting lazy and letting life become too routine can definitely kill a relationship. I like the analogy of 'stoking the fire'...

ever see this pattern.... young brother hits 18-20 and his hormons are on overdrive.
he can not find someone in the congregation, so he sneaks out and finds a 'wordly girl' who thinks sex before marriage is ok and normal.
so he feels this is a way to deal with the hormones and basically, goes sex wild on her and hopes no one finds out.
I saw it happen. An elder's daughter started doing kissy face with a worldly boy in highschool. It was the scandal of the year and her father had to step down from his high horse of eldership. The boy eventually got squeezed into marriage and baptism. Years and two kids later he couldn't take it anymore and he left. They were never that "spiritual" of a couple in the first place...

the 'god' of the jw's is a god that will kill billions at armageddon.
the christian 'god' in general is a god that [according to their own holy book] already killed millions in the ot.
this 'god' ordered the slaughter of innocent virgins and children and old men and old women so that his people could take the land.
On a more personal note, If there is a supreme intelligence to which we are answerable, I don't think it will be found in any book. There are clues in Zen buddhism, Tao and the Bible. They are just clues, which lead towards a spiritual life. There are also clues in nature which includes the vast galaxies.
