Another thing to be said about Shelby is that she doesn't doe crazy long cut-and-paste jobs. Also, she doesn't make ridiculous predictions or cry wolf about the end being near.
Another thing is that Shelby is more human and actually has a sense of humour, unlike most of the others...

my intro to the world of wine was my jw parents buying a huge screw-top bottle of paul masson or gallo red or white, having half a glass, and sticking it out on the back porch thinking that wine stayed good like that.
Ah, yes. How could we not mention desert wines and the like?
I do enjoy a good port or sherry as well. Also on the list are late harvest and ice wines. There are a great variety of those that I enjoy too.

I still gotta laugh at folks who think that Canada is little more than Eskimos Inuit and igloos, snowmobiles and seal hunting, mounties and maple syrup, etc. It's even funnier when visitors think they can drive from Toronto to Vancouver in under a day. I guess it's all little wonder when they can't even find Canada on a world map.

well technically it is an anniversary invite/special talk invite.
the car group was just here.
i was home but hiding and my husband got the door.. i want to tell them exactly why i am not going , but i haven't got my head quite there yet.. i think i am gonna have to just decline!.
My mom was visiting out of town the other day and mentioned the memorial thing to me in hopes that maybe I'll go. Nope.
If anyone asks me about going to anywhere I don't want to go, I simply reply that "I'll think about it" and leave it at that. Easy!

I'm not exactly a wine snob per se, but cheap liquor store plonk just doesn't quite do it for me as I literally live in the middle of wine country. Yes, I'm a little bit spoiled.
I like big, flavourful reds like Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah/Shiraz, Chianti, Merlot, etc.
I like whites with more kick to them like Reisling, Gewutrztraminer, Auxerrois Blanc, etc.
I'm not much of a fan of heavy oak flavours. I can do without...

i have found some powerful reinforcements when people have stated their " epiphany moment "... please share some.. my turning pointing began when i was badly hurt by a person i had always viewed as a literal brother.

love was conditional.... if it was the case with him , then how about those i had less affection for and trust in ?.
To put it short and sweet: It was when I realized that the "friends" weren't really friends at all. After a time, I just couldn't stand to be around other JWs anymore...

my mom does and has every ailment under the sun.. i know more people that are under meds for depression than not.. fortunately, i do not suffer from depression but i wonder how many do or have, especially if you were a witness..
I've suffered the hellish depths of depression since my 'tween' [sic] years though not to the point of actually hurting myself but the thoughts of that were often there. I dumped the BOrg religion when I was 17 for the first time and a few years later the clouds lifted somewhat. Tens years after that, I got suckered into taking the dip and things seemed great at first. After a few years, I ended up in the same hell I was before, only this time the real-life consequences were a little more serious as I was living on my own but was barely able to function, barely able to care for myself and barely able to hold on to my job. After losing most of my "friends" and nearly losing my mind, I stopped pretty much all JW activity. I've been fighting this second round of depression since and I'm just starting to climb out as of late.
It's only looking back now with a clearer mind (and a determination to never go back to the BOrg) that I see a rather coincidental correlation between the years I spent "in" and the times I suffered from clinical depression. I'm not going back in for a third round...
