Hi Hortenzie, Why not tell them I have something for you too and write www.jwfact.com, www.jwsurvey.org, www.freeminds2.org, or www.freeedomofmind.com on the tract?
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
Robert
i read about the new tract distribution and thought to myself how should i react, when they come to my door.
finally today, after finishing my morning coffee, i got an idea!
i'll take the tract, look at it, look at them, and with a nice smile rip it up and hand it back to them with :"have a great day!

my wife has told her jw best friend and jw sister that she is givng up the religion!!
and there was i worrying about losing her when i left the cult.
and, to top it all, my 15 and 13 year old children are using their critical thinking skills and can see it all for what it is.
Congratulations Oneoutallout that your wife and kids are critically thinking for themselves.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

hello everyone.. after months of neglect, i've resumed writing for my website.. the new article deals with the issue of shunning among the jehovah's witnesses.. it attempts to disentangle disfellowshipping from shunning, and demonstrating that shunning is a practice unbecoming of a christian.
i hope you find it interesting the article shunning - unchristian psychological torture.. it's divided into the following sections:.
introduction.
EdenOne - Actually, at some point during the article I state that when "disfellowshipping" is mentioned, it also includes those who have disassociated themselves.
Hi EdenOne, I must have overlooked that clarification about linking disfellowshipping and disassociation. It might help other readers for you to make that statement at the beginning of your article instead of some point during the article.
Since you link disfellowshipping and disassociation in your article, shouldn't you also expand the history of the WTBTS's shunning doctrine up to the 1980's when Freddie Franz was instrumental in changing the WTBTS's doctrine to ostracize Raymond Franz and his wife from other JWs? To me the 1980's doctrine change is important, because it proves to me beyond a shadow of doubt that the WTBTS is a dangerous cult.

i have said that i am agnostic... and i am... but i still believe that there's someone out there looking out for me.... anyways... on sunday i think that something coming very short of a miracle happened:.
i got a chance to thoroughly investigate the topic of mind control with my mother, without her getting upset at all, and i managed to record the entire conversation.
it lasted about an hour.
Hi ILoveTTATT, I'm glad that you had a step of forward progress with your mother. Don't get discouraged when your mother takes 2-steps (or more) backwards. You are helping your mother to critically think for herself, and not running a sprint.
It is very interesting that you learned that non-JWs had a more positive effect on your mother's childhood than JWs. You should use that information everytime your mother uses WTBTS platitudes to praise how loving and caring that JWs are versus non-JWs. Asking simple questions about your mother will over time help her to deprogram herself. Just learn how to bring out your mother's authentic persona without inciting her cult persona.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
Robert

Hi EdenOne, You did a good job of showing that many religions used/use shunning to coerce members, a brief description of the psychological effects to those shunned, and a brief history of how the WTBTS viewed shunning. I feel that the section about " Doctrinal Development and Scriptural Support" should also include a paragraph (or two) with WTBTS references about when the WTBTS started using closed door JC's to DF JWs instead of letting the congregation decide.
I'm currious why you did not try to seperate DA'ing from shunning also? If shunning DF'ed JWs cannot be supported by the Bible without twisting the scriptures, then shunning DA'ed and/or fading JWs cannot be supported either. If Christians follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, what would Christians learn from reading John 6:60-70? If Jesus did not tell his 12 disciples to shun those disciples that left him, Why would Christian religions promote shunning members who no longer wish to follow the leaders of a religion?

Hi Laika, You are probably feeling grief about JWs who you miss. That is the power of BITE control!! Feelings of grief are like an ocean wave. Sometimes they crest and seem impossible to control.
I use to feel grief after my ex-wife divorced me. Sometiems it really sucked when the wave of emotions came crashing down on me. It took several years to fully overcome my feelings of grief. Now life is sooo much better without her and she only treated me worse after we divorced.
What do you like to do? Go out and meet new non-JWs instead of going back to the KH. Nothing has changed about the WTBTS that would change your initial feelings for leaving the WTBTS.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
Robert
cruising down to the city this afternoon we were behind a group of j-dubs on the train.
part of the conversation centered around the "generation" teaching.
all of them clearly trying to wrap their heads around it.
If a JW says "Where else will we go?", why not ask them 'Don't you mean " “Lord, to whom shall we go?" The Bible directs Christians to follow Jesus Christ (i.e., John 6:68) instead of an organization, so why do JWs follow imperfect men?'
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

its possible i might be asked by the co to work with him today.
hes gonna want to know why i'm holding myself back.
i'm itching to tell him about my doubts (only about the new light, how i cant get my head around how the hs would direct us to believe falsehoods for decades, not about everything, that'd be suicide!
Captain Blithering - I don't know if I can resist telling people. Or at least asking interesting questions.
Hi Captain Blithering, You will probably reach your goals sooner by asking simple, interesting questions than by telling people what to believe. The WTBTS is very good at indoctrinating people to believe that JWs know more than anyone else. Asking simple questions that help JWs to critically think for themselves will help JWs to see TTATT sooner than preaching to them.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

after some reflections i have come to the decision to disfellowship myself from here, permanently.
many interesting argumentations sometimes, thank you adamah for many clever reflections.
criticizing in a bad manner of members and arrogant "i know better than you"-attitudes is a part of it.
Hi Mr Fool, I wish you the best in your search for peace. Compared to JWs in a KH JWN must seem like a nut house to many JWs. I prefer the reality of JWN to the illusion of the WTBTS.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

my mom showed me how ferocious a mind-controlled person may be.. i started talking to her about the septuagint... i don't know at what point the conversation went wrong but she just got angry and said, "well, i trust that jehovah has kept the bible intact... i want to end this conversation"... and i said, "mom, you haven't even let me finish.
"i don't want to continue this conversation!
stop the car".
Hi ILoveTTATT, Have you thought about the saying that people have two ears and one mouth? Instead of telling your mother your opinion, ask your mother about her opinion and then ask more simple questions that help her to critically think for herself. It will not be easy for you, but you may have more success with your mother. Also, back off when your mother's cult persona starts to gain control of her actions. You need to find ways to help your mother's authentic persona to be in control.
Remember that JWs are slow to adapt because they must wait for direction from the WTBTS. You can adapt more quickly and it is a lot easier to listen to uncover what is causing your mother cognitive dissonance than to be the source of her cognitive dissonance.
Best of wishes and I hope that you and jwfacts can team up to create webpages in Spanish on www.jwfacts.com.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
Robert
