I need some urgent advice, please!!

here's my story.

i'm 24 years old and i live in brazil.

i'm a 3rd gen born-in jw and all close relatives in the borg (parents, grandparents, uncles, wife, inlaws) except my little sister (she's 16 and didnt buy jw doctrine).

Welcome alonein321, Do you love your wife? If she would rather divorce you instead of being shun by her JW family, let her go, but do not drive her away by trying to show her TTATT. Also, use birth control with your wife until she loves you more than her following the doctrines of a dangerous cult.

Do NOT show her TTATT. Instead do the following:

Show your wife that you love her. Listen carefully to what she says and watch her body language. Praise her when she critically thinks for herself,
Ask your wife simple questions to learn more about her childhood, what she dreamt about doing as a child, as well as how she feels now. Try to learn how to turn-off her cult persona and how to turn-on her authentic persona. Her authentic persona is your friend, so help it to grow stronger.
Talk to your wife about you getting more education/training to provide a secure financial future for both of you (and that you have reason(s) for missing meetings).
Meet/make more non-Jw friends and help your wife to meet/make more non-JW friends who she will share common interests.
Help your wife to use the internet to research things that she likes such as where she would like to visit on vacations.
Encourage your wife to do non-WTBTS time consuming hobbies that will conflict with going to meetings/assemblies,
Start home bible studies with your wife to show her how the Pharisees and Sadducees used BITE control techniques to victimize Jews and how Jesus Chirst felt about them. DO NOT show your wife how the WTBTS uses BITE control to victimize JWs. Let her come to her own conclusions.

Under no circumstances DA from the WTBTS. DO NOT play by the WTBTS's rules - you will lose!

if i wrote a letter of da to the congregation that only said i was da'ing with absolute zero reason.

how do you think theyd respond?

obviously an anouncement but im sure rumours would then start.

Hi Jon Preston, Are your feelings to DA yourself inluenced by the WTBTS's indoctrination (i.e., phobias)?

If you need reasons to miss meetings/FS, talk with your wife about getting additional education/training to provide a more secure financial future for your family. It has been over 120 years since Charles Taze Russell first predicted the Big A happening in 1877.

Also, if you feel comfortable studying the Bible with your wife, help your wife to critically think for herself by showing how the Pharisees and Sadducees used BITE control techniques to victimize Jews and how Jesus Christ felt about it. Let your wife connect the dots between how the Pharisees and Sadducees behaved and the WTBTS victimizes JWs. If you don't know what BITE control is, please watch the following video: Strategic Interactive Approach explained 2003 (1:23:23).

If you do not like sneaking around, I would recommend either buying a smart phone/tablet and enjoying coffee/pastries at a coffee shop with free WiFi.

exJW Elder and Felon in Jail

exjw elder and felony fugative, michael johnson norris, plead guilt today, 2/27/2014, in santa barbara county superior court for sexual molestation of the daughter of brandon joel, under a plea deal norris was sentenced to in state prison, a far cry from the possible 25 years he could have received had the case gone to trial.

the family has full intentions of pursuing a civil litigation against norris and the watchtower society that harbors pedophiles..

Welcome Haupi33, I hope that the daughter of Brandon Joel finds closure with the sentencing. I also hope that she pursues civil action against Norris and the WTBTS, if applicable, to encourage the WTBTS to change its child protection policies.

Hi Jon Preston, Would your wife shun you for no longer being a JW? If she would, then that is what would happen if you DA.

DON"T PLAY BY THE WTBTS's RULES. It would be much better for you to quietly fade.

Is saying "I don't want to be a Jehovah's Witness anymore" enough?

i was just wondering.

say you were baptised and stopped going to the meetings, when the elders and people ask why can you just say you don't want to be a jw anymore without giving a reason?

i mean it's not like they can force it out of you and you aren't necessarily spreading lies or whatever they say apostates do.. if anything they'll have to keep talking to you to find an actual reason to df you so if you're literally as vague as possible then what basis do they have?

Hi DuvanMuvan, DON'T GET DUNKED!! If you get dunked, it will be easier for JWs to point the "Shun Gun" at you to make your life miserable.

Talk to a guidance counselor at your school and ask for help to determine your aptitudes you possess and to plan how to get an education/training for a good career and to get a job. If he does not understand your situation, ask him to visit www.freedomofmind.com and www.jwfacts.com to verify that you are trying to escape from a dangerous cult.

Your best excuse is you are too busy studying and working to attend meetings and go in FS.

i think there has always been your average garden variety pioneer couples and mr and mrs cobe and back in the day these tended to be a little bit dorky the wife -homely, the husband -fatherly, they shopped at thrift stores and lived in someone elses garage.

but as competition for a slice of the power pie has ramped up over the years what we have now seems to be a whole new ball game.

does ultimate power lie with the men, the "family heads"?

Being an Atheist Is Bad For Your Health

i stopped believing in god in july 2013. in the first 3 months or so i felt liberated and relieved that i can live my life anyway i wanted without worrying about an invisible being watching my every move.

i also felt slightly superior that i was able to figure out that god isn't real while the majority of mankind continued to be fooled.

atfer the feelings of excitment statrted to wear off, i started to become more depressed and empty.

Hi Space Madness, I'm glad that you are still participating on JWN.

Have you heard of the study that ice cream sales have a strong correlation to drowning deaths? From your description Durkheim's study seems to have been based on macro-data between countries instead of micro-data for the people committing suicides. I would ask your professor whether Durkheim's study took into consideration other variables and did more in-depth research for a few countries, such as:

Faith of person committing suicide - What was the faith of the person committing suicide and did more atheist than non-atheist commit suicide within a country?
Weather - Did more suicides occur in winter than in summer within a country?
Alcohol consumption - Did more heavy drinkers commit suicide than light to non-drinkers within a country?
Family relationships - Did more members of single child families commit suicide than multi-child families within a country?
Economic factors - What was the economic status of the people who committed suicide within a country?

Husband addressed himself as "Used to be a JW"

when asked about his religion & belief, he would tell people that his family are jws, and he used to be one.

but still he is very much against christmas and birthdays.

he seems to have no issue with new year.

Hi UBM101, If you and your husband don't talk about and/or argue about the WTBTS, your husband's feelings can fester and cause future problems with your marriage. If your husband cannot talk about the WTBTS, at least ask him about his feelings without talking about the WTBTS.

Coworker has been studying

so i found out last week that a coworker of mine has been studying with jehovah's witnesses.

i think she said she had been studying for a long time and has been to plenty of meetings.

her grandmother is a jw apparently.

Hi MrFreeze, Be kind and respectful to her and ask her if she feels that you will die in the Big A. If she says no, ask her why the WTBTS teaches that you will and JWs must blindly believe the same way. If she says yes, ask her if she can justify her beliefs using the Bible.

Is the Watchtower Destroying All Thinking Skills of New Witness, Compare them to when you were in the Organization!

many jws don't know the basic doctrines we all use to debate the clergy with.. .

jws don't know the bible, the know a few proof-texts but can't handle the bible like the witnesses of 1950s-1990s, what happened?.

the caliber of the new elders is horrible when compared with the elders of 1950s-1990s, they don't know how to use their bible, they are turning towards orgnazational minor details while ignoring the bible and gospel message.. .

I can only hope that soon it will turn into an avalanche of stupidity so that fewer non-JWs will be indoctrinated into the WTBTS.

Unfortunately, I have seen for myself that JWs prey on the most vunerable of society to gain new recruits with their love bombing.
