my guess is, there is going to be some new revelation about what the "?
" represents, or some other fangled idea.
Maybe the WTBTS will start an anti-virual meme to protect JWs from apostates, or maybe promote a new prophesy to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the 1914 prophesy and the generation which shall not pass. No matter what is said at the convention the WTBTS will be able to say later it was the R&F's fault for miss-interpreting what was said.

the infamous cover of that 1984 watchtower (27 years ago) was perhaps the last prediction / prophecy of the watchtower society.
will there be any more or have they finally learned their lesson?
some think they are like a race-track junkie and are addicted to predictions.
Hi Fatfreek, thanks for modifying the cover of the May 15, 1984 WT! Please post an image that does not cut off words on the right side of the image? I would like to print it and hand it out to JWs. I may even get it laminated and post it on my door. What better way to greet JWs in FS? Have a nice Welcome sign and underneath this image with what the WTBTS prophesied. I wonder if JWs would even bother knocking?

Refrain from calling JWs borg, witlesses, etc. Also, is it better to free the minds and Holy Spirit of JWs or to launch vicious and long-winded attacks on JWs? Are JWs the problem or are the doctrines, policies, and practices of the WTBTS that prohibit JWs from thinking for themselves the problem? Sometimes asking questions get people to think more than making declarative statements.

those of you who have been following my story know that i just 'came out' to my family about being finished with the religion.. does anyone have advice on how to explain this to the kids?
their ages are 9 & 14 and they are very smart and fully grasp all the issues.. they are living with their father who has brainwashed them.
so this is very touchy.. should i just keep being a good mom and just lay low?
Hi headsspinning, I vote for being a good Mom and wait for your kids to ask you questions. Show your kids that you love them and they will see the truth. I would take them places that you and they enjoy, maybe go to non-JW friends birthday parties, and parks where they can make new non-JW friends. If they ask you questions, give them short, concise, and top-level answers without a lot of details. Sometimes adults' answers to kids questions are too complex and provide kids more information than they wanted.
If you can afford it, I would contact a good child counselor about what to do.

i had just posted a sarcastic question on pc's thread about last nights call with the six screens folks when the door bell rang.
it was a jw lady and she was by herself.
Isn't Theocratic Reasoning wonderful (sarcasm)? It allows JWs to lie to worldly people without believing that they are lying and allows them to continue their cognitive dissonance. I guess that the WTBTS does not empathize reading John 8:31-41.

hello, have been on this board for a few years, and now my wife is asking me to read the subject book with her.

it seems pretty 'vanilla' in my scan through it, seems to lift up the male headship issue a few times and of course the cure to all ill is to 'attend christian meetings'.. am still working to fully open her eyes, anything in here i can use that may help, any conflicts with current doctrine i could possibly point out??.
Hi Insearchoftruth, a former friend, who is a devote JW, recommended that I read “Getting the Love You Want – A Guide for Couples” by Harville Hendrix. The book is very good and you would learn effective techniques such as mirroring, validating, and empathizing that may help you and your wife grow closer instead of argueing with each other. I also agree with comments written by others about doing things that your wife likes to do instead of going to meetings, do not criticize the WTBTS or other JWs (until your wife's mind is open), remind your wife about you are the head of the family like the WTBTS literature states, and reading the "Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus" book by Dr Grey.

Hi sweetmochasista, I am sorry to hear about your situation, although it seems to happen often. I hope and pray that you will make new friends, get an education, get a job, help your son to develop normally and with critical thinking, and be free of the WTBTS.
