It never ceases to amaze me JW`s come to your door uninvited to tell you the "TRUTH " yet they can`t handle the "TRUTH" when somebody challenges them .
by smiddy inisn`t that a bit ironic ?
we have the truth they say , but challenge them about what they say and what has been printed in their journals , and their is excuses, apologies etc.etc.
to rationalise their current beleif.spin spin spin,they are, if not worse than politicians, then they are equally as bad.

I think that the WTBTS is making a mountain out of a mole hill to inflame JWs' persecution complexes. Anyone can go to www.jw.org and download a copy of the Watchtower or Awake! if they want to.
To circumvent the Russion court decisions, JWs could easily pass out business cards with the url www.jw.org. It would save the JWs from paying for the publications to distribute and it would save trees at the same time.

Good family news
by GeneM inmy little brother (age 19) just got df'ed and is likely going to come live with me.
the entire family (who are all still devout) know that if he decides to do that, he is never coming back since i da'ed years ago and will set him straight.
my only concern is that he may appeal it to keep from losing the family... he only stayed the night at her house twice got to second base.

Hi GeneM, I hope that you can help your brother to realize that the WTBTS doesn't care about him and to stay away from underage (and near underage) girls. Living a lie as a JW is bad, but being labeled a child molester is worse.

Personal Attacks
by Band on the Run inrecently, i showed a great deal of vulnerability by posting that severe pain had popped out again and my morphine pump needs some tinkering.
it seems i am attacked with some frequency for posting here but other frequent posters are not.
rather than discuss the merits of a subject, some people engage in personal attack.

Band on the Run - A Bible Student and others could not argue with the merits of my position on the First Amendment and targeting a single religion to lose tax exemption. This is one area of law I know well. A Bible Student and others could not trounce me on the merits.
Hi Band on the Run, I am sorry that you are in pain and using medication, even though you probably would not believe me.
I always liked the saying "The Truth is what you believe it to be". You believe that I was personally attacking you, and I believe that I was asking you to assess your writing style and logic development because you are taking pain medication. You believe that your posts refuted what I wrote, and I believe that your posts did not.
No one forced you to post to the threads about signing the White House petition. Your post in the following quotes and in bold is probably the best and shortest example of why I was concerned about your state of mind.

Further invasion of privacy from me is ordered. Sadly, this was never a dialogue. The majority of posters disagreed with you. I was not the lone voice of reason. Sign your petition. I don't care. Your repartee is lacking. Read the comment before your recent posts.

mom gave a lot of money to the watchtower bible and tract society over her lifetime- (6 figures).
after she ran low on funds she made a 5 figure "conditional loan" to wtb&ts.

Hi serenitynow!, there is no code. Follow the following directions to get recent WTBTS digital publications:
- Enter www.jw.org in your browsers seach box.
- Click on the downloads tab near the top of the jw.org displayed window.
- Click on the one of the following "Digital Publications" on the left-side of the window: "Magazines", "Books and Brochures", and "Bible".
- For Magazines click on the drop-down menus in the center of the window for Language and Month.
- Select which magazine that you want by clicking on the file format on the right-side of the window. I would select pdf.
