and any with children, how did you get over the fear of your kids interacting with other kids, bad habits, and the other fears with leaving the borg?
just curious as i too have many moments of "oh god how will my kids grow up in this world?

Have you watched the Harry Potter movie "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban"? One way to overcome your fears is to make what you fear funny. One way to overcome cult speak's loaded words is to stop using them and/or to translate them in your mind into something funny or something more truthful, like instead of someone being "Worldly" - they are non-JWs, someone who is "Spiritually Strong" - they are non-thinking, and someone who is "Spiritually Weak" - they are still thinking.

he knows i'm done, he's willing to fade.... out of the blue last night he tells me if i want to buy him a gift, he'd like the bacon bowl maker and the hamburger press (with the hollow center for fillings) so i will be buying him a valentine gift and i'm excited to be able to do it.~.

20 years ago the da's were in dodger stadium, 10-15 minute drive from home (east part of san fernando valley, los angeles area).
then moved to long beach, 45 minute drive.
now in 2014 they are moving to san diego, 2 1/2 hr drive.
DATA-DOG - Last night I overheard my Wife talking to a JW friend on the west coast. I could tell that her friend was worrying about the distance to the DC and not being able to find a WTBTS approved hotel. The unforgivable sin of staying where you want is weighing on her soul.
Hi DATA-DOG, Does your wife know how to locate cheaper hotels and read guests' reviews about the hotels to locate hotels that she (or her friend) might enjoy)? I wonder why the WTBTS approves one hotel over another, unless they get some kind of a kick-back (i.e., donation per JW) from the hotel.

there is a certain user to whom i suggested using dropbox, and the user said he had problems with it, that his computer ended up full of game advertisements.. please, to those who have used dropbox before, can you give your honest evaluation of dropbox?.
i am trying to convince this user that i did not suggest to him something that was bad, but actually good... that it helps to share huge files, no matter what their size.. .
please tell this user... i don't want to lose this user's trust.. .
Hi ILoveTTATT, I use dropbox to share large files with friends and family and between my smart phone and laptop frequently. It is easy to use and I have never had problems with it.

my parents got into it when i was about 4 years old.
my family was part of the granville ny congregation.. my dad in time became an elder.

the 2014 yearbook is out, and i have scanned the publisher figures into a more readable format at 2013 service year report.
i have updated some of the graphs at http://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/statistics.php and will do the rest tonight.
there are no real surprises, with very similar results as during the last couple of years.

I feel that the increase in average number of publishers would be decreasing more than displayed if the WTBTS did not reduce how many hours it takes to be a publisher. It is humorous that the increase in average number of publishers is staying relatively constant, but that it takes significantly more hours for a Bible Student to become a publisher.

Hi Johnny Joker, I love that you want to raise awareness about the WTBTS. Whose awareness are you trying to raise? JW's or non-JW's? If JW's, I don't feel the aforementioned ideas will be very effective getting past a JW's shields. If non-JWs, most non-JWs don't care about JWs. Non-JWs think the WTBTS is a cult and get annoyed with JWs trying to distribute WTBTS's propaganda unless non-JWs are emotionally depressed, physically disabled, and/or financially poor.
What other ideas do you have?
