i currently am a jw and my parents are too.they seem either confused or dislike it when i raise questions and recently, when i questioned them about 1925 and 1975, i've been told it's changed due to "new light.
" i don't remember nor do i have very much knowledge of "new light.".
this "new light" just dosen't sit with me and neither do the false prophecies.new light first of all, breaks a scripture in deut.
First off ask them to prove it without the use of Watchtower publications and scripture hopping.
Second most of what we were taught in the bible isn't even scientifily possible like the Noah's ark...don't see them coming up with new light with that one. In fact the bibles loaded with many holes that they refuse to shed "new light" on when things are brought to their attention.

Less is more...only mention a few conversation starters in your profile page...leave a lot of mystery. Never email a lady back until the next day. (at first anyway)....never email her twice in between a response.
Have only one close up photo of your face...and make sure your name is part of your username. Ladies may like the bad boy, but they also want to have an idea they are going to be safe in trusting you with information like her number....
When you email a woman, never tell her how hot she is. If you like her photo, tell her its a "nice picture". Most importantly...make sure you ask her a question about an interest in her profile. Again...less is more, so only one sentence or two max. She will know you took the time to read her profile...that is very important.

I'm from the Midwest USA, but I met a couple ladies online from the UK in recent months that temp me to visit them sometime in the future. I really like the accents over there. :-)

@ Yknot...I'll check those links out....but I would like to find someone who owns a copy of the Golden Ages and so on in the future, because I want to do a documentary on the subject if at all possible. I don't need to own a copy...I just want to see an original one for myself. The best way to prove our ideas is to try to disprove them...a formula I'm starting to live by is "believe nothing until you test it"

I'm wanting to get my hands on old Watchtower books and magazines. I hear all the valid arguments about how 1914 came from pyramidology...yet I still find myself wanting to see the books first hand. Not just quotes or pictures of them.
I remember going to assemblies and we were warned about "Apostate" flyers and stuff. That never sat well with me, I mean if truth is truth...then people should be able to spot a lie from the truth. considering that they tell you how to argue every point with every other religion which should be more than enough training to build up your critical thinking skills...yet Apostate flyers are a threat to truth? How can it be if they have the truth?
I'm very aware of how the watchtower religiously focuses on "the light gets brighter and brighter"; a very interesting thing to note is that the name Lucifer literally means "bringer of light".

Growing up in the religion has jaded my perspective. Most of my believes the WTS is BS, but there is that part in the back of my mind that fears they have the truth. Stupid I know, but it's there.
Sometimes I worry that obsessing about the witnesses and how they wronged me only serves to keep the WTS in my life. Still, I have more in common with ex witnesses more than anyone. This is true whether they are still religious or Atheist.
I got to say though..as an observation...the WTS creates far more Atheists than anything else. I mean if they are going to brag they have 5 or 6 million members...imagine how many Atheists they made. lol
