Emptyinside - good thought but doesn't the fact that JW'S by their religious beliefs, put themselves in such unbelieveable, unnessessary positions of undue stress. Who else does this!!!!! So ya they are quite NUTS!

Maybe all Watchtower craziness rubbed off on Jerry Bergman after he did an in depth study of them,lol! How does it work oh yeah, ... bad associations, spoil ............

this site has opened my eyes.. i am suprised as a one time 'do gooder witness' that so many on this site are still 'active' jw's!

and all the time i was a witness i really did not think that anyone would dare even look at such a site!!!!!.

i am also suprised at the number of people in the same situation as me, and the number of people who actually feel they have something to live for now they have left the org!.

Why does the Watchtower use "New world" constantly?

why does the watchtower use "new world order", or "new world translation", etc....as part of its terminology?.

makes me wonder about some of the conspiracy theories out there?.

TastingFreedom - from early days to about the late 80's, yes this phrase was used extensively. We always referred to 'the new world' or the new world order, but 'paradise' wasn't used as much. NW, very common everyday use!

Now however, it seems the society wants the genie back in the bottle. Did you notice when the new song book came out last year, every song with 'new world' or new order was gone! Can't lay my hands on an old copy rite now(soon as I hit enter it'll show up!!) but here's 2 lines (I'm humming) "Go tell far and wide God's New Ororderrr is near, and ere soon His rich blessing's will be here." Come on, you know that darn thing is playin in your head rite now!.. To top that off the handy dandy jw custom bible is called ........ wait for it.........New World Translation! If they aren't in cahoots with the illuminatti all ready, in a cover-up, then they're backing off real fast hoping to fade into the woodwork. (who me?don't shoot!).

Too bad the thousands of pieces of wt literature since the 1800's just can't be destroyed!! Whoops!

once again my wife and i were sent the " witness only " wt version by our lurking jw friend that they study at wt study meetings.

and once again wt society is showing very controlling tendencies towards it's jw members.. do any of you remember the " old days " in the 1970's or early 1980's when witnesses used to have goody night after book study ?

or you would have a " potluck picnic " with about 30 to 40 people getting to know one another to draw close as friends outside the confines of the kingdom hall ?

As time goes on the borg reduces the human aspect of living more & more. "Oh geez....too much socializing & laughing going on, OK, no more orchestra for you. Stop blowin those horns!! Most jdubs are wound up so tight and pushed to the breaking point .... you never know what the NUT cases will do ... 9/11 a lot in Brooklyn thought it was Armaggdon for sure! So ya they're potentially very dangerous.

Well, I Guess There IS One Good Thing About the WTBTS...

if you're the kind of person who would rather convince yourself that someone isn't "deserving" of your help... which may include your money... even an amount as small as $3.00... the wtbts was the right group to be a part of.

because they have every excuse under the sun for not giving to the poor... not helping out someone in need... not even giving a hungry one a meal (because we know, don't we, that every one of them is an alcoholic and/or drug addict... and everyone knows... particularly the wtbts... that those folks... those sinners... don't deserve to eat at all...).

AGuest, ...well you certainly picked up some wild & crazy people(good crazy) with that line. For sure I agree...for the most part we can be pretty 'cheap' when it comes to donating our money to the poor . A circuit servant(used to call them that) gave a talk to the cong, shortly after I was 'taken captive'. He said that we "Should Not give to the Charities, because if we did, then the governments would not fork over any money, they'd just let us do it!" So giving ...NOT GOOD! Gave me the "right" attitude right off the bat. Right from Mother! ...... Glad to say, this never sat right with me, lol.

Oct 4th- "How is their work financed?" - "Why we report our field service?"

Sept 13th - "Does the bible require that we blindly believe in God(Borg)?"

Does it seem to anyone beside me, that the subjects brought up on these sites are being used as fodder to deflect the criticism & condemnation of the society? Sort of CYA! Otherwise why would they be so forthcoming to explain 'sticky' subjects, when in the past they were reluctant. What do you think? Maybe we should keep hammering away with Child Abuse issue!
