Can't fault Witnesses for their level of dedication.

can't doubt the dedication of most witnesses.. .

attending 5 meetings a week; doing 10 hours of fieldservice (door-to-door) each month; working hard for the reward of eternal life on paradise earth; willingness to shun their best friends and family members if these individuals are disfellowshipped from the organization; denying their young children blood transfusions even if it might save their lives; deciding not do any independant thinking apart from their religion; willingness to change their beliefs every time their anointed leaders change their minds on doctrinal matters....the list goes on and on.. .

yes, it's amazing what people without the indwelling holy spirit will dedicate themselves to do.. .

Appreciate your comments very much.

Dedicated 45 yrs of my life to this burden of a manmade religion and finally realized that if we had the indwelling of H S....we wouldn't be doing all this. It is not dedication .... it is Brain Washing and Delusion. Which btw, accounts for all the 'uneasy & depressing' feelings that kept surfacing no matter how much effort was put in or how Big the smile pasted on our tired faces!

Rutherford said "God does not have an Organization" in WT. Where?

years ago i was reading in the wt reprints and saw a question from readers after russell died where someone asked if god had an organization as brother psl johnson had been teaching.

rutherford made clear in his response to the letter that jehovah does not have an organization.

i can't remember what year it was but i believe it was in 1916, 1917 or so.

What is the WT's Motivation? Who Benefits?

another thing my jw friend says to me when i question the wt is, "what would their motivation be?

they're so humble and no-one gets paid except a basic living allowance for the workers at bethel.

they're not like those other rotten 'ministries' whose leaders get paid a lot of money, etc.".

So, I hope we're not saying that this is like the Jerry Sinfeld show...just a show about 'nuthin'!?

Or, are all these phoney & deceitful actions taken by the GB are 'cause they believe theyr'e doing a good work. That they want to perpetuate it, for their own welfare, aggrandizement and a roof over their heads,...well maybe partly.

If we only could...follow the money....where would it lead? hmm illuminatti? By all the donations, what could we actually be contributing to? War weapons? ?????????New world order????

What % of current JWs sincerely believe Armageddon will come within the next 30 years?

just to give you a little background about myself, i was a born-in, i'm in my late 20's now, i faded away a few years ago after researching the history of the wtbs on the internet.

my fade was aided by moving away with my job(i definately feel lucky about that).

eventually, i had discussions with a couple of my closer jw friends about why i no longer believed in the wtbs.

Current JW's who believe armageddon will come in the next 30 yrs is probably quite high. Only because, in 30 yrs a lot can happen. Shorten that down to 5-10 yrs, then the reality becomes too much! And then, not so much!

Even for the most brain dead, the edge of credibility has to be wearing pretty thin. I do not think for a minute, that the continual newlite changes and commands not to think, will be any different as time rolls by. As Moshe brought out, the ending of the bookstudy mtg, was the last 'legitimate' time and place where we could talk!

when is it too late to learn the truth about the troof

wts suckers in many young people who are still naive and trusting and they also sucker in people who are going through some sort of a crisis in their lives.

but they also prey on old people.

those who preach no doubt are sincere and believe what they're doing is life saving and all that... but to turn things around, how many here would tell an elderly jw that their religion is a con?

What did Ray Franz's answer?

He had a Crisis of Conscience.

"Moral challenge affects us all" he said. "Some spend their whole life in a morally 'sitting' posture. But, when all is said and done, and life finally draws near its close, it would seem that the one who can say, "At least I stood for something." must feel greater satisfaction than the one who rarely stood for anything."

So, yes I agree with that. But not to mean, I would run around 'preaching' to those who follow the Koran, or anything other than the bible, no!

But my thinking is that, IF you are believing and living your life according to the bible ....then it is imperative that what you are accepting as truth, IS really the Truth. ie; Christ is the Way and the Truth, not a group of men with really bad timing!

People have a right to worship God as they understand Him, without being threatened with eternal damnation for doing so. Freedom to follow Christ and accept all that his sacrfice entails.... including partaking of the bread and wine.

So, I think.... it's never too late.

outraged!

This offends the moral senses.

We have witnessed scenes of war, horrendous accidents, shootings and the like. But the sight of those men, circling and laughing and enjoying themselves, was like watching an animal with it's prey. Two men, in a smaller circle now, close in with whips. And whip her again & again...smiling.

Other than a bit of fun, valueless to them. As though she was nothing!
