Elder and CO just dropped by....
by El_Guapo ini haven't been to a meeting in over a year, and as you know as soon as you stop attending meetings/fieldservice the "conditional" love becomes more apperant.
the coordinating elder starts off by saying how much he loves and misses me, etc.
i ask him, when was the last time you called or texted me?

10 Years out of the JW Organization- What I've Learned ( For what it's Worth)
by flipper in10 years ago i stopped attending jehovah's witness meetings for good.
walked out of the kingdom hall cold turkey never to return based on injustices i observed among others and myself at the hands of elders giving out not god's counsel but personal opinions as counsel .
some of them weren't even giving out wt society counsel- just personal opinions.

Thoughts After Saturday Morning Service
by lambsbottom inwent out with a good friend in service this morning.
my spouse and kiddos joined us.
me and my spouse are awake jws, have gotten over the initial shock and disgust with some of the lame wt doctrine, and are determined to let god direct us wherever he may (even to another church - i'm going to a baptist service tommorow).. we have fun doing a little bit of service with the kiddos, letting them watch deer, play with sticks, and write not-at-homes down.

Don't Question GOD! (aka the governing body)
by sunny23 indid a simple search in the wt library for words like, "question," "questioning," "doubts/ing,"obey," "understand.".
these are listed in order of occurence oldest to newest (up to 2012 as my library is 2012 version).
"if we have love for jehovah and for the organization of his people we shall not be suspicious, but shall, as the bible says, 'believe all things,' all the things that the watchtower brings out"qualified to be ministers (1955) p.156.

hawaii recently enacted a new law that allows victims of childhood sexual abuse a two-year window to file a civil action-even if in the past you were told that, because of a statute of limitations, you couldn't.

A Mom, Dad And 2 Grown Kids (20ish) All Disfellowshipped This Week!
by minimus init happened in a local kingdom hall this past week.. my daughter went on one of the kid's facebook accounts and he posted pics of him with 2 joints in his mouth at the same time.. i heard the parents and sibling were aware of it and never reported it to the elders..

What do Baptists believe?
by quellycatface ini'm thinking about going to church again because i'm really interested in god (today)!!.
sometimes i'm so confused and feel like there is no god, other days i do and want to try and get to know him.. i guess i'm scared because of all the bs that went on in the kh.. there is a local baptist church near me that seems nice.
i'm in the uk.

just as "us & them", as JW's.

Found the service very hyperactive, very loud
new age music, & passing the rather large containers
for donations was a very dominant part of the service!
*
They called for volunteers to fill the many responsibilities
in running all the various programmes & lots of duties!
That part really surprised me, seemed way more,
at the congregational level, than the witnesses!
*
Finally the wine & bread really tastes awful...
maybe if they used the real stuff it would have been better!
Now ...when it comes to what they believe ...hmm,
some were extremely hellfire believers....others said
"no we don't really believe in hellfire!" ???
