They are cutting back yes but what I see is a getting rid of a bunch of junk. I would just have a garage sale when junk collects ....but they get their slaves to deliver it all around the neighbourhood! They are clearing out ..... maybe they will grabb the money and RUN!

As a jw what bothered me, were the self righteousness & time counting thoughts that occurred when helping a neighbor down the block or some poor woman who has fallen on the sidewalk.
Before I was mixed up in this cult, I wouldn't give it a second thought to help someone .......it just happened 'naturally'!

As Freddo said, the Co was a great guy, if he & his family were not I would not have been interested either.
This was before the body of elders thing happened about the mid 1970's. After that things really changed ..... position & money became the important thing. There were the unspoken levels of groups in the congregation. The "friends" started having only people on their A list as friends ......& maybe some B list people. This list got right to the bottom where only the bits & pieces & undesirables were placed ......their lives were hell!
