Me & my hubby have an invite to a party at a random persons house we barely know, as much as I'd like to go, it scares the crap out of me? Would you go ?
We feel like 2 fish out of water !

i have this whole entry i want to post but i don't know if it is too long to read.

Fade & fade fast.
I woke up to the fact that the WBTS was not the truth just under a year ago now. I soon came to compare my life to that of someone being in a drug induced coma. Whilst going to the meetings it was like I was constantly recieving an anaesthetic. This anaesthetic was because of mind control. The WT and book studies are used to mind control (brainwash!) everyone into believing what they are hearing is correct. Since no one is allowed to question what they hear then they are forced to accept what they hear is the 'truth' & not a lie as it comes from the (most honorable) Faithful & Discreet Slave....
When I stopped going the meetings I was able to look back in like a fly on the wall and I soon started to wake up. It quickly became clear that the Slave Class hadnt actually been as discreet as they should have and that the so called Light that was getting brighter & brighter was just a ploy/scape goat to cover up that they were actually the False Prophet.
Prophesy after prophesy has been changed (even though they are recieving super spiritual Holy Spirit direction straight from the horses mouth). This alone made me see them for what they are.
I agree you need to read the book Crisis of Conscience written by Ray Franz, an Ex Governing Body member. This will free you from all your mental torment and help you to quickly break off all the chains that have been tied around you for years....

Im a 40 year old mom of 4 Junior/ teenage children. I was not born in to JWdom, but was one for 21 years. My husband 43 years (JW since he was 2yrs old). He too has escaped, so we all have freedom like never before ...

my husband was brought up in the faith since around the age of three years old.. he stopped believing their crap when he was a teenager and indeed didn't attend for many years.
however, even though he moved over 100 miles away from his parents his mother visited him and got the local congregation to put pressure on him.
she also telephoned and wrote to him regularly to make sure he attended.. his parents in the past have been treated very badly by the jws (long story) but they are still in the thick of it despite being in their eighties.. my husband thinks that because his mother converted she could never admit that she is wrong and for this reason will not stop attending.. just wondered what others thought on the subject?.
I was a convert. It took me 23 years to wake up & finally escape. Hubby was technically a born in (as he was 2 when he became one) and was one for 43 years. He always thought something was up with them, but due to fear it never occurred to him to seriously question what he knew. Once he did, everything fell into place & we all ditched !!!!
From my experiences everyone that I know of who converted are still active JW's. All the teens and others who were brought up JW's have long since ditched.... There only the odd few who are super holier than now that are still there. (More fool them!)

From my memory JW's dont think miscarried babies or still borns would be resurrected because non of them would be breathers...
Either way only a heartless God would go killing babies at an Armaggedon, just because their mothers/fathers arent believers....
when we were jws we were told that death is an enemy but if we were faithful to jehovah, we would be alive always in his eyes.

Very Scared. In fact too scared, its immobilising my life, giving me panick attacks and wrecking my sleep patterns.... Half the time I feel like Im going to have a heart attack and then Im even more scared.

@ Hotspur - Your meet with bigmac will probably be at the local mcdonalds with his mrs in toe - Me & my family met them last week for a good old natter. Ironic is the Mcdonalds is in the grounds of their local Kingdom Hall.... Close enough to fling those vile gurkins....

based upon a true story, the film is about a 17-year-old jehovah's witness girl who struggles to reconcile her faith and her secret romance with a non-believer boy.
