Women as weaker vessel - explain?

ok, the mr. constantly rolls his eyes and tells me i just don't understand anytime any of his literature shows up with something along the lines of "women are the weaker vessel.

" apparently (at least in his own little mind), it does not mean women are these delicate, breakable, weaker things, but something else... something more subtle.

anytime he's ever explained it to me (which has been a few years, i reckon), it's come out sounding like reason for women being second class citizens... is he just putting his own spin on it?

Hmmm, well the one thing that comes to mind, just at first is:

They certainly need special care and consideration when experiencing such discomforts or enduring the exhausting trials of being pregnant and giving birth.

After having given birth, yeah, um ain't no weaker about it, this is an endurance test beyond most. And for those women who birth in a hospital, some of them are in labor for ~24 hours without even anything to eat, and still caryy on. Perhaps women cannot, say, bench as much as a man can, but the endurance thing should account for something. Anyway, I still don't get it with reference even to birthing.

This is vague. What exactly are "feminine virtues?" I wonder if there's an answer to that.

Meeting topics that cover sex

occassionally the mr will say that "some visitors are shocked because we will talk about sex, even with children in attendance.

" what exactly are they talking about in these meetings.

things like "don't masturbate" or things like if you position yourself like this, and your woman like this while having sex, then you're fornicating?.

equally as sad is that some nieve young married guys buy into the nonsense that housework=sex
no one ever got laid off of housework

Actually, in a way, it is for some women. Men who help out around home are more likley to have a less tired, and happier woman - and that can certainly lead to more sex.

The WTBTS = Abusive Partner

i thought about this in the early days of the mr's conversion, thought i'd run this by you folks and see what you think.

i think, sometimes, that the wts took it's ideas right out of "how to be an abuser 101" text book.. 1. isolation - both of them do their darnest to isolate the new convert/victim from her/his previous life, family friends, interests.

tell them they're a bad influence, tell them "they hate me" or hell, tell them they're just tools of satan to get them out of the victim's life.. 2. create a dependence upon the abuser/wts - there's no one else who will love you/have the right doctrine like i/we do.

I think they've called themselves "Mother" on many occasions... Which leads me to wonder whether they realize how close they're coming to GODDESS worship???

Oohh - now hold your tongue, Zid! We wouldn't want women to get big heads thinking they're god-like and then asking to be equal to the men in the congregation!?!? (Do we have a sarcasm color here?)

I agree Sabatious. Abusers make people feel stupid so that increases dependency.

I've been saying this for years now. But more like abusive parent because they do tend to treat Witnesses like little stupid kids

But so do most abusive partners - they treat their partners like they're stupid, worthless underlings.

2. Create a dependence upon the abuser/WTS - there's no one else who will love you/have the right doctrine like I/We do. Everyone else is trying to keep you from me.

3. Scare the living snot out of them to keep them from leaving - death threats, violence, horrific tales of the end of the world, and atop of that make sure they know that unless they're "good enough" then they'll risk getting any or some of the above.

Anyone else see the parallels?

Madre Tierra, ayudanos! I sure as hell hope not. Mormons are bad enough... shudder. They remind me of the RC church back in the day - getting their hands and their mitts on everythign from economics to government. They already control too much of the western US.
