"Of course. It means my mom and dad will never talk to me again because you have brainwashed them into believing that your organization is the truth. It means you'll never come to my home and bother me with your lies and propaganda. It means you will consider me an apostate as I will do everything in my power to tell people the REAL TRUTH of your false doctrines and the scandals, cover-ups, and outright lies you perpetuate. Is this correct?"

(Stammer)"Uh... thank you."

Is it normal for them to call you for the first time in 12 years only if they get a letter saying you don't want to be contacted. (Which was in my letter.)

When you realized that it was all a lie.. how did you cope?

i realized about a year ago after much lurking here, that the truth was in fact a lie.

it rocked me to my core to come to the understanding that everything that i have been taught, believed in and taught people myself was in fact not true.

when you are a born in like myself, the teachings of the wts become all you know.

When I realized, I became an atheist. To me, that was refreshing. Not worrying about some trivial action that damns me for eternity by a sky-fairy bully was... well.. amazing.

I am not a extremist atheist (although I do wish more would give up religion and it's superstitions). But it's awesome to wonder at the nature of the universe and not be satisfied with "God made it that way".

Good luck to you. The rest stop is up ahead, with Canadian beers *bleh* and lots of friends. And no WTBS.

since i don't know what to believe about "god" right now, i'm wondering what a pagan's take on all this is.

My sister is a witch. Wiccan if the word witch brings up the negative "broomsticks and pointy hats". Which has worked amazingly well in her life. She has peace, she worships her goddesses, and in her eyes, they bless her. She used to be a regular pioneer. :) I'm so proud of her now. She's so much less judgmental, she's positive, and the best mom I've ever seen in my life.

I'm an atheist now, and out of respect to the thread, Vampire, I won't go into a dialogue of that.

MadJW - they reinstated me whilst I smoked pot and ate LSD. I had to leave the reinstatement meeting BEFORE the announcement because I had taken 2 hits of LSD that afternoon, forgetting it was Wednesday, Theo School. :)

I quit of my own volition afterwards.

And regarding us being "Foul", you hypocrite, judging us "good thing they DFed you ! heh" ... well... at least we're honest with ourselves and not cowards, hiding behind Jehovah's skirt (Which the name means Evil Whore of Ruin jeh=jinn; a demon or imp, prostitute, usually a female demon . hovah - causes to ruin... now some people have their names involved with makes sense and so forth.

First time at the meeting after my DF

granted it's only been two weeks, but my oldest son had a talk tonight and i wanted to be there to support him.

couple of funny things.... - shunned as expected.

forgot to shave off my van dyke first though, and forgot to not dress in all black like johnny cash, black oxford, black pants, showes, socks, belt, blazer.

Keep the Van Dyke, and black is the new black. :) (When I was df'd I wore the loudest suits I had (red n black pinstripe) and bleached my hair.(Very into the Ska/Punk/Swing movement at the time) It's not like they can re-disfellowship you more or something.

I think this is indicative of the mental degradation that occurs with the saddling of one's mind with abstract concepts like "God loves you, but don't screw the pooch or you'll burn forever, but he loves you" "God sent his ONLY son to earth as a ransom for you, which he paid to himself because he is the one that imposed the need for a ransom" and my favorite "Even if you never get to know of god, you'll be destroyed along with the pedophiles, rapists, and murderers". Fun stuff.

P.S. Their website has taken a tactical retreat, I'm sure, since the instigation of this conflagration due to the untold virtual-reams of hate mail I'm sure they have received. (Anyone have a working link? Send me a message :) )

The next time (if it EVER happens since finding a JW going door to door in Austin, Tx is like finding a snowflake in July, in Austin, Tx) one of them come to my home, I'm going to listen to their conversation starter. Then I will raise some "conversation stoppers" to see if they have been good little Theocrappy Ministery School students. If they succeed in routing my questions, I'll express my pleasure at donating for the Worldwide Work. But for my donation I want every book in BOTH bookbags. All magazines. Because I like to read.

At the end I'll hand them a Council Slip, showing them where they have opportunities to work on. Some of the points will be Lying Effectively, Ignoring Questions, Back-peddling, Complete Ignorance of the Bible, and of course, Adherence to False Teachings. If they get a "W" on any point, they must come back the next day to work on it and get an "I".

They'll feel comfortable with the structure, as most automatons do.
