Pedophile Elder in jail gets reinstated
by Trapped in JW land inthere was a brother in my congregation who was an elder.
he got disfellowshipped about two years ago for looking at child porn and also trying to meet up with a thirteen year old boy online.
he was also arrested soon after this.

It wouldn't surprise me. The JWs are notorious for placing their 'identity' and their 'good name' or the 'reputation of the congregation' ahead of any child protection laws, and as such, it's a sad tale indeed.

Yes, I just recently finished my study of the 'two books', their "Bible Teach" and "God's Love" books of study, and decided that the religion just wasn't for me, or for my family, and so we informed the elders of this, and have since been 'cut off' by a few of the so-called 'friends' because, according to them, we've 'turned our backs on Jehovah' and are unfit for their continued 'friendship.'
With 'friends' like that, who needs enemies, is my question? I thought it odd that they 'dis' fellowshipped me before I was even 'fellowshipped' in the first place, but I'm thankful that this has happened.
It has opened my eyes to their sectarian ways, and the fact that to the average JW, their religion is their god, and to leave their religion is to leave god, and that's really sad to say the least.
I find it a trickery of sorts to use their "Bible Teach" book as a lure, a nice piece of 'golden' bait, that talks about God's love and such, and then to have the "God's Love" book put a choke hold, a noose of sorts, around your neck, as they attempt to 'tighten the rope' on which they hope to hang you, and so while I'm disturbed that they have treated, or mis-treated me, in this way, I am glad that they have done so. If they had not acted in such absolute contradiction towards everything they've been teaching my family and I the last 2.5 years we've been faithfully attending their meetings and assemblies and conventions, then they might have had the oppotunity to baptize me next Summer in 2015.
Not anymore, they have proven yet again, that they are their own 'worst enemy' and it's no wonder their kids 'grow up' and leave their twisted faith, because it is a religon of 'fear', must like the rest of Protestantism and just isn't for me. I want to be involved in a religion of love, and obviously, the god the JWs worship isn't the One I serve, and as such, I reject it as a fantasy, rather than a reality.
Thank you guys/gals for this forum, and I ask that you continue to pray for my family and I.

There once was a man whose lifelong dream was to board a cruise ship and sail the Mediterranean Sea. He dreamed of walking the streets of Rome, Athens, and Istanbul. He saved every penny until he had enough for his passage. Since money was tight, he brought an extra suitcase filled with cans of beans, boxes of crackers, and bags of powdered lemonade, and that is what he lived on every day.
He would have loved to take part in the many activities offered on the ship—working out in the gym, playing miniature golf, and swimming in the pool. He envied those who went to movies, shows, and cultural presentations. And, oh, how he yearned for only a taste of the amazing food he saw on the ship—every meal appeared to be a feast! But the man wanted to spend so very little money that he didn’t participate in any of these. He was able to see the cities he had longed to visit, but for the most part of the journey, he stayed in his cabin and ate only his humble food.
On the last day of the cruise, a crew member asked him which of the farewell parties he would be attending. It was then that the man learned that not only the farewell party but almost everything on board the cruise ship—the food, the entertainment, all the activities—had been included in the price of his ticket. Too late the man realized that he had been living far beneath his privileges.
The question is, now that you're awake to the realities of the falsehood of the Society and its gripe on your life, what are you doing about it? Are you going to let life pass you by to one day, as this man did, where we see that 'too late the man realized that he had been living FAR BENEATH his privileges'? Take action today, don't let another day pass by and remain in silence, if ALL of you who are 'active' in form only, were to LEAVE the Society in ONE LARGE mass exodus, they would have NO CHOICE but to fall and crumble. The choice is yours, but life, the boat on which we are all riding, is slowly, and surely passing each of us by, whether we eat and partake of the feast of life, or if we do as this man did, eat humbly out of our 'watchtower' lunchboxes and enjoy no other spiritual food, are we truly LIVING LIFE, or letting it PASS US BY? You decide.

PROTESTS AT WATCHTOWER CONVENTIONS
by Lawrence Hughes indear friends,.
as you may know, the watchtower society takes great pride in its district conventions.
please contact me if you can attend any of these protests.. there is no reason why every district convention in the world could not have a protest and receive media coverage to expose the watchtower society.

I agree with the one who said that getting an education, better employment, moving on to a newer life with more knowledge, wisdom and maybe writing a book about your experiences in and with the Watchtower, like the "Crisis of Conscience" book would do more to 'save lives' than protesting at District Conventions would. In fact, by protests, you'll probably drive home their point that they're 'hated of all nations' for the Good news sake and you might actually find yourself contributing to the baptisms of thousands more, as persecution usually fanes the flames of fanaticism rather than stops it. Go to college, if you cannot afford it, go to an online college, they're usually cheaper and if you cannot afford it, join the military, usually veterans get college education for free.

What say you Christians ???
by wobble init seems to me that most, if not all christians are really hung up on sin and redemption from sin and how naturally evil we all are.. my question, and observation is this : i had nothing to do with whatever you say adam and eve did wrong, i have always, throughout my life, treated whoever i came into contact with compassion, respect and love.. i have lived by the golden rule.. not many people, hand on heart, can say that, i can.. so, is your god going to judge me for the "sin" of some mythical forebears of mine ?
is he going to say that , because i did not believe in him, i willl be judged adversely, even though i lived by the precepts he is supposed to support ?.
all i can say is, if your god is like that, i refuse to worship or acknowledge him.. and i certainly do not want to get to know him.

Wobbie,
Althought we will be judged for our own sins, and not for Adam's transgression. The fact of the matter is is that we were yet unborn when Adam sinned, and we have all inherited the death sentence from Adam. So, if you're growing older and you think you'll die in the next 80 to 100 years, then yes, Adam's sin does have consequences for you, although they are not some mystical 'judgement' to be meeted out to you in the sky, but in the here and now, the fact that we're all growing older and then we die is proof enough that God did indeed sentence Adam and Eve to death, for if they had not sinned, we would all live forever in perfect human bodies right here on this earth.

by sizemik inbelow is a link to an interactive map of the japanese earthquake and it's aftershock sequence.. there are a number of interactive tools enabling a close examination of what took place .
ie; you can speed up the sequence and select various periods of activity.
you can also pause the sequence and hover the pointer over specific quakes to determine depth, magnitude etc.. the map will open beginning with day one .

So, did any of you OPEN your homes to the Japanese brothers and sisters who lost it all? They were calling for this back in early April, asking all the Japanese JWs to OPEN their homes if they had a spare room to house a needy JW family who had lost it all during the floods and the tsunami.

FAITH, the biggest excuse for IGNORANCE.
by nicolaou inwhen you claim that some impossible account from the bible is true are you doing so because of evidence and honest reasons or simply because you want it to be true?
if the evidence your claim is based upon ends up being proven false would you stop making the claim?.
if your claim is based only on wishful thinking then you are being dishonest with yourself.

Faith is a PRINCIPLE OF POWER...with it, we can heal the sick and raise up the dead, and if our faith were perfect, we could see into the eternal world that lies beyond this one and see our true potential. Again, faith is not an excuse for ignorance, but the very opposite of such ignorance, because with faith comes the very knowledge of God and we only receive a witness, after the trail of our faith. This I know to be true...
