my family had several elders, ministerial servants, auxillary pioneers etc, so it certainly wasn't one of those 'barely in' families.
but in certain small ways, i think mine were slightly less hard line than some other families i've heard stories about over the years.
one example was the 'fall dinner'.
I've heard some JWs say, "Jehovah's Witnesses are thankful to Jehovah every day, not just one day a year..." as if that somehow explains why setting aside a particular day for special attention is wrong.
The GB should read Romans 14 about days being a conscience matter.
reading about jw.org rules changes these days gives me a sad observation.. everything what "is" today, can be gone tomorrow.. that makes it all worthless.

because he or she was not humble enough.

watchtower plays lots of games with definitions.
once they change a definition then they have a false assumption to build their deception on.
then they repeat the new definition and use its new meaning thousands of times to reinforce it.
Walter Martin used to say, "The sheep's clothing of the cults is vocabulary -- same words, totally different meanings..."
for the first time in ages.. a very elegantly dressed senior lady and a young chap.
but--it wasnt just having a leaflet thrust at me--it was a full blown "old style" presentation.
i stopped her going to far into it--by asking if they are jws--and told them i was an apostate.
Why use the WT terminology by calling yourself an apostate?
another creepy pervert elder convicted of multiple counts of child sexual abuse in pennsylvania.
this guy moved from puerto rico to lancaster, pa in the 1990's, worked his way up thru to being an elder, and then used his position to babysit families with children and abuse them.
he then denied everything, but when some victims went to the police, he fled back to pr, where us marshall's eventually caught up to him and arrested him.
A couple years ago I was talking with an Philadelphia elder about the ARC.
He assured me that CSA coverup doesn't occur in Pennsylvania because there are mandatory reporting laws.
I wonder what he thinks now.
i had a jw quote this scripture to me recently: “study to show yourself approved” - great scripture.
but when we point out that former wt leaders didn’t study and were high school drop outs (ct russell only made it to the 7th grade) franz was a college drop out with only 2 hrs.
in koine greek, we always get the same answer - the apostles weren’t educated men either.
Everything is proof the WT is right, even when it's wrong.
Likewise, JWs are always grateful for new light, even when it completely contradicts the new light they got just a year ago.

Which is harder to handle -- the truth or "the truth"?
how many of the millions of jws know it’s not true but stay anyway?.
my guess is most jws know it’s not true on a subconscious level to an extent but they don’t want to think about it too much and would never ever voice it out loud.. but this is probably true with all religions around the world?.
An ex-elder once said to me, "If you want to just get by, there are a whole lot of religions easier to do it in than Jehovah's Witnesses."
(Granted, that was back when you still had to report all your time.)
