"Are the GB so deluded and therefore their followers?"
Yes.
i was watching a video about wt and money and the "brother" refers to the "spirit directed organization.
" he also says they use donations wisely and modestly.

Yes.
about a month ago i started having a clear out of old clothes, books and bric a brac etc….. i don’t know what came over me but i decided to chuck out all my old jw literature because we literally have no more room.
it started with magazines, then books, ministry literature and once i started, couldn’t stop.
weird right?
I certainly understand throwing all WT literature in the trash, but often the best evidence that the WT is bogus is its own writings.
For example, how anyone could read The Finished Mystery and believe the WT's claims of divine appointment and direction are beyond me...
what is worse for jw's: changing the 1914 doctrine or allowing beards without the right to say what their opinion is?.
g..
Changing 1914 would be devastating. The whole WT "Jehovah's organization" and "faithful and discreet slave" structure depends on it.
latest gb update.
only took them 20 years to see beards are acceptable in society.
.
I wonder how many JWs will begin to realize the amount of arbitrary control they are allowing the GB to exercise over their lives.
i know there are several threads already on this "new light", but i didn't see one that covered this particular angle.. since the gb seem to have an ulterior motive for everything they do, well beyond their publicly stated reasons, i began to wonder why they would be concerned with pushing back the closing of the window of jesus' judgement.
this is especially puzzling because the doctrine of the start of great tribulation being the final cutoff was one that the gb seemed to especially revel in for so long.
they could hang it over everyone's heads as a looming threat.
TonusOH said, "It would be funny if they suddenly announced that the great tribulation had already started and we simply hadn't realized it."
My addition:
Maybe the Great Tribulation began invisibly in 1975.
Only "eyes of understanding" perceive this.

If they declare the Great Tribulation has begun, how long will it last?
As time drags on with no end in sight, will the GB say that there will be overlapping Great Tribulations?
the watchtower's many legal problems and the jws' use of carts in their preaching work, reminded me of a scene and dialog from the film patton.. in a scene where patton is viewing a battle site the morning after, he says to an aide about the nazis: “you know how i know that they're finished out there?
in my dreams i saw the carts.
they kept buzzing around in my head and i couldn't figure out why.
Pepperheart2,
I wonder how many of those old publications contain significant amounts of "old light."

I expect the GB soon will lay on a guilt trip about people slacking off in field service just because the hours no longer need be reported.
They'll stress that Jehovah knows how much or how little you're doing and with Armageddon sooooooo close...

Now that the WT has virtually eliminated field service reporting requirements, do you think JWs will no longer waste time standing next to carts, or is cart work something pioneers will want in order to have easy (though boring) time?
i had a day off today and needed to get some errands done in my local town.
2 carts have allocated here but i never ever see anyone out, even on very nice days.
70% of the congregation don’t work.
It's hard to remain credible when you proclaim that the Gentile Times ended in 1914 when all the Gentile authorities are still going strong 110 years later.
