hi...i was wondering why jw's think smurfs are evil?
also what is a dub?
right well the smurf thing..........
the only thing I know about it was that there were a couple of stories going around where smurfs had been demonised by people and then taken into the Kingdom halls......The one story I had heard was where a little girl took her giant Smurf into the meeting and apparently it got up and walked out!!!!!!!!!! I cant vouch for this obviously but there we go! Im sure someone else will have more detail!

when i first came here i was happy to find a place where i could laugh, get pissed off or just speak my mind on a subject.the people i have met here are some of the most,kind,careing,informative,helpfull souls.
i couldn`t have asked for a better group to be involved with.i do not always agree with my board mates.even with the ones who piss me off,there is still a comradeship(yk comes to mind,lol).finding this board has taught me one important thing.we are not alone,we have each other...outlaw
I guess one of the plus sides to being a JW was the fact that you could go anywhere in the world and walk into a congregation knowing that everyone there knew what you were about etc......I missed that when I left, I felt very alone and we all know its near enough impossible to try and explain things to ' worldy ' people because theres so much about the Borg which cant be put into words..
For me, coming onto here and being able to talk to people without going into the history and countless details has been a huge amount of pressure lifted.
Im not sure quite how Im taken on here, I have only been posting for a few months and I dont think I got off to the best start with all my sexual threads and I know that more than one of you thought I was a Bethel plant (spooky!)...for me the sexual stuff has always been an issue and I couldnt wait to discuss things with others to see if I was alone, whether that made people distrust me I dont know, I can only be me but I hope in the last few months that Ive gained a few friends on here and that Im making sense to some people!
Its nice to post something and have a reply straight away, thats a comfort..to know that someone somewhere is reading my words and feeling the need to talk to me.....whether its about something humourous or serious.
Im not sure that this place has changes me as much as enlightened me.

the congregation was always being told to root out any person who was engaged in wrongdoing.
if it was a best friend or even a family member, you were to inform the elders so that they could look into the matter and investigate any possible sin.
the elders pretty much told the brothers that those knowing of a sin and not reporting it were as guilty as the person that actually sinned!
I was ratted on countless times! I was done for smoking, attending birthday parties etc etc ..you name it I did it!
Before I left I made sure that I went to the top guy to tell a few stories of my own. I felt it only fair as these young sisters were obviously so concerned for my spiritual welfare in the first place, I naturally had to return the favour as their spritual welfare was in a worse state than mine!
I lost count of the elders chats........!!!!!!

Cheers for the jokes and comments guys and gals. I did email my father in the early hours so I am awaiting a response! Im sure they wont follow the KM but it does cleverly word things so as the people not following the guidelines are therefore not loyal or christian. God I hate this.

we have all seen the yearbooks that are printed by wts with accounts of people who suffered to become part of their organization.
would it not be helpful to raise public awareness if the ex-jw community likewise had a *yearbook* including experiences of those who have overcome extraordinary obstacles while in the cult or because they were trying to leave the cult?
granted, everyone's story has it own merit, but if we had to narrow down the number of people to be profiled--who would you chose?
I agree that a published book would be better....how else can we go from door to door?
i found out today that there is a new insert in the kingdom ministry coming up which is all about how to treat disfellowshipped ones.
aparrently they are clamping down on it big time.
has anyone else heard of this or seen it?
