  DID AN ELDER EVER HELP YOU?

  there are so many horror stories about elders.

  many people dislike or can't stand elders, in general.

  a number here have been truly hurt by some.

  I think people lose sight of the fact that a lot of elders are just normal human beings who are trying to work hard for something they truly believe in. Altho their convictions may be misplaced and we may not agree with their reasons, they are really pawns to a wider picture.

  That is not to take away of course from those guilty of child abuse, lying, deceipt etc.....but just that I guess some are decent good blokes. Ive known elders that I really looked up to and also elders who are hypocritical and self absorbed, worse in some cases. Isnt that true of everything tho? Couldnt we apply this question to C/O's, P/O's, Pioneers, Bethelites, Studies etc etc........this is the case right across the board and in life as a general rule. There will always be good and bad.

  i think its time we all got off our chest all the naughty things we did whilst rebelling against the jw's!.

  ive got too many to list but i think somewhere near the top would have to be....... (drumroll........this is actually quite bad and i may get reprimanded by some of you).

  Ballistic......I agree with you 100% but Martin has no email address public so I dont know what to do. I dont want to be indentified on here by anyone other than I choose especially if I dont know their current status. I could end up in a lot of trouble for the stories I have to tell. Thanks for your concern.

  The dumbest way you got caught?

  ive done some pretty stupid things in my time but i think the prize had to go to the time i was 14, out shopping and desperate for a cigarette..... i went into a secluded cafe so there was less chance of being spotted and was relieved to find that there was only one other couple in there.

  i sat down with my coffee and confidently lit up, casually asking the guy on the next table to pass the ashtray.. next week i was hauled in front of the elders for smoking and found to my dismay that the guy sat next to me was a ministerial servant who recognised me from being on the last assembly programme giving my experiences!.

  Unfortunatley Floppydog, thats always the way it seems to happen! We keep our mouths shut about others but the minute we step out if line, bang, your in a Judicial quicker than you can say !"but brother!"

  Im still in counselling for the way it made me feel but not really getting anywhere. I think its worse that being brought up a JW, it is almost a kind of conditional love and thats hard for any human to bear. You dont want to let family and friends down but at the same time, you have to live your life the way you need to. Either way, you end up getting hurt and somewhere along the line, you get lost. Thats about where I am and have been for the last ten years. I just am lost, thats the only way I can describe it. Im a mum and fine in that department but when it comes to being me, I dont really know who that is most of the time. Im so used to putting on an act for people that it takes over after a while and therefore, the real me got hidden way down beneath the layers of everything others wanted me to be.

  My only advice is to hang in there, you can waste too much time looking backwards when nothing can be done to change it......be proud to be you

  They want my kids

  ran into some jws today.

  was out to lunch at a restaurant with 2 of my kids.

  there were 2 tables full of jws, i wondered what the occasion was.

  One thing I could never understand is that when JW's saw me out, they would completely ignore me..who they'd known all my life...and talk to my children who didnt know them at all! Weird!

  Do the English dislike the Welsh (vice versa)!!!

  since living in wales, for years iv beeen told how the english hate welsh and vice versa,so whats all this about anyway is it some kind of ancestry thing,i mean i dont find anything wrong with the english and try to get on with most.what is it that english and the welsh dont like about each other.im confused!!!!!!

  Why do I get the impression that this thread is NOT being taken seriously! I have bared my soul guys!

  MARTIN - I have taken the liberty of reading some of your threads to get a bit of background on you! Sorry to hear that you were DF, sounds like you had a rough ride of it too. I guess its frightened me a little that someone I know could read all the stuff Ive written! Especially as you know my family etc, that makes it tough because of you were still a JW, my family could be hurt by things Ive posted on here. I did say this in another thread that sometimes I can be too god damned honest! In answer to your questions tho, yes, your right. I was more reluctant because I do remember you being friends with MS, in fact Im sure it was at their house that I first met you. Small world huh! Email me cos I would love to catch up with you (but ssshhhh, dont tell my dad!)

  Roybatty - I bet you chuckle!

  Elsewhere - Its a strange thing the old guilt. I would feel guilty and pray for forgiveness about certain things but I would always do them again! Least you had something to show for it!

  Mulan - good for you, another smoking story! We actually used to sneak out of the KH and go to a little subway 5 minutes away, have a fag, eat a mint on the way back in, spray deodrant and sit back down! Cant believe we were ever so naive as to think noone could smell it! lol - you have to laugh about it!

  Incidentally, one thing I forgot to add......whenever I got surplus cash, i did use to put money back because I felt really guilty so dont get too bad an impression here! It was the taking in the first place that was wrong but I honestly did put it back!
