  Yearbook is late this year

  usually i recieve an advanced yb but have not this year.

  i also notice they have not posted it yet on jw.org.. i wonder if this is due to problems at the printery at wallkill or they decided to produce the yb later from now on?.

  or perhaps they decided not to publish it any more.. anyone have any info on this?.

  I was always interested in the statistics when I was an active witness. I even made a chart for each year and used the monthly FS reports in the KM to figure out how many magazines were placed, total hours and rvs, average studies, and baptisms monthly for each year.

  I also used the estimated number of magazines placed to estimate the number that were printed. I was surprised to find how close I was when actual numbers were published!

  With this new gb practically no information is provided, the monthly FS averages have dissappeared from the km as have the latest edition figures from the books.

  In the 60's, 70's and to a lesser degree the 80's, the yearbook and/or w would let us know each year how much literature was distributed, how many rvs made, how much literature was printed.

  Now that information is no longer provided, just bits and pieces on rare occassions.

  Perhaps the YB will be posted Thursday when they post the Simplified w?

  Seems strange it is so late this year.

  if they stop publishing the number of partakers it can only mean the the number has gone way up! And they will have a big problem on their hands as more and more witnesses begin partaking at the memorial!

  Maybe the ones in heaven already proved unfaithful so jehovah has to start collecting the 144,000 all over again and that is why the number of partakers keep on increasing!

  I wonder if they are waiting for the congregations to recieve their copies before posting it on the internet?

  Although as mentioned above, they posted the YB on the internet before congregations recieved copies.

  It does seem we are more eager to see the new publications than the active witnesses are!

  WHERE IS THE BEEF - Little Bitty Skinny Magazines

  the magazines were left in my door today.

  skinny little things with a lot of pictures and bullet-type commentary.

  actual articles are almost non-existent.

  I think downsizing the page count of the magazines was simply to cut costs.

  First, they cancelled mail subscriptions.

  Then,in 2006 they made Awake! a monthly. Then in 2008 they created the study Watchtower, which does not get public distribution. These steps cut magazine production way down, but they were not satisfied. Despite all the money saved by these changes, the circulation of both magazines kept going up, so they still had to print more.

  Thus, they shrank the Awake! and public Watchtower down to...24 pages? No- to 16! It is rediculous and should be obvious to any witnesses what is happening. But no, a sister told me it is a good thing, how beneficial that the GB decided to save more trees!

  I imagine even these changes won't satisfy the stingy, greedy new gb. They will eventually cut back the frequency of the Awake! and public Watchtower to bi-monthly, and eventually quarterly, before they just stop printing them altogether and publish only e- magazines.

  But what have they been doing with all of the money they have been saving on these cutbacks?

  They have turned most books, including larger sized ones into softcover editions, and cut down on book production. They decreased the page count of the Yearbook from 256 pages to 192. (Although I like the new format!)

  So what are they doing with all the money they have been saving on continously cutting back their printing budget?

  Its amazing how they dedicate the property to Jehovah, then take it from him, sell it and keep all the cash!

  Guess Jehovah does not mind, he was not living there anyway! LOL!
